The artist in question is Moses Pendleton, internationally known as a founder of the groundbreaking dance troupes Pilobolus and Momix, of which he is artistic director, and as a two-time Olympic choreographer. The poem, actually begun by Moses himself, recounts episodes in his unconventional creative life over a 30-year span in funny, lyrical, and accessible rhyming verse.
