A desperate man escapes 1920's rural poverty in Ireland to find work in Barrow's shipyard, he helps build ships as he builds his new life in Barrow. From encountering world famous creatives in the most unlikely place to imaginary time-travelling back to the Cumbria of our ancestors, the poet does justice to all those places outside of the Lake District. The Lakes in all seasons are duly paid homage to.
We poignantly visit Coniston pondering the most famous event unfolding all those years ago on that water; and appreciate Windermere down through the decades.
