Publisher's Summary

When Cara is made redundant and unable to find another job in journalism, she takes on a seasonal position on a cruise ship with Billie, her best friend's girlfriend. Billie isn't her type at all, but as the two grow closer during their time at sea, Cara finds herself torn between loyalty toward her friend Dan and her growing feelings for the beautiful and flirtatious Billie, who might very well be the best thing that's ever happened to her. What do you do when the only thing you want is the one thing you can't have?

Keeping a distance is hard when opposites attract. And running away is pointless when desire can cross oceans....

Another Great Audiobook from Lise Gold!

ok, if I could, I'd give this audiobook a 4.5 rating. I really liked the storyline. Cara meets Billie when Billie sleeps with Cara's best friend/roommate (who is a man). cara needs a job and Billie gets her one on the cruise ship she works on 6 months of the year. they bunk together on the ship and hang out often... then there's drama when the guy/roommate back home discovers cara and Billie are more than friends. I eventually got irritated with cara for running away from the whole situation but I guess there was a need for a little sadness before they officially became a happy couple with everyone's blessing. Narrator did a very good job with accents (not one of my favorites, but still very good)

An OK book

Was a little too slow, the characters well not well developed and the narration could have been better, it was a little too nasal for my ear, but the narrator did a good job with different accents...
I would recommend it for vacation when you have time to listen to it and enjoy the different port, not really giving information more than you can find in regular tourist brochures, but still better for vacation than just a drive in the country side...

Unexpected love

Life working on a cruise ship? I’d never really thought about it and Lise gives us a glance at what might happen on a long cruise. The two main characters start as friends, but the slow burn gets in the way! The glances and touches lead to more than friendship. What turns into love for two leads to another friendship falling apart. Will they be able to salvage their hearts in the end?
C.C. does a great job with the hot & steamy parts, almost making you feel like a voyeur during the scenes. Her voice characterizations are pretty good, with lots of different accents to work with. Overall, she does a good job, even though at times she sounds a little out of breath.
A good listen especially if you are thinking about listening to this on a vacation. You would be able to enjoy this one around a pool or at the beach. Maybe even while on a cruise! 😉

Good story

I liked the story, but the could hear the narrator take deeps breaths though the whole book. And it was a little annoying to me. But over all not good.

Fun, steamy read

When I was in middle school I wanted to work on a cruise ship when I grew up. This never happened, so I enjoyed living vicariously through Billie and Cara. The chemistry between those two was full of electricity, and the storyline felt natural and realistic. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job.

Totally Enjoyable!

I enjoyed listening to this romance. Lovable characters and exciting settings around the world made this a captivating story. I also appreciated the narrator's ability to express so many different voices throughout the story. Well done!

An easy listen

Fancy a trip halfway around the world aboard a cruise ship in company with Cara and Billie? Life aboard the ship and the places they travel to are worth the listen, but add the romance and the characters and you have a winner. I think CC Sinclair did a good job although some of the accents were a little off....for me that did not detract...there were just so many accents needed.

If you need escapism then this is it.
