Publisher's Summary

The perfect escape....

Gabrielle Adams has it all - brains, beauty, a handsome fiancé and a dream job in publishing.

Until, one day, everything changes.

The ‘Underground Killer’ takes his victims when they least expect it: standing on the edge of a busy Tube platform, as they wait for a train to arrive through the murky underground tunnels of London.

Gabrielle soon learns that being a survivor is harder than being a victim, and she struggles to return to her old life. Desperate to break free from endless nightmares, she snatches up an opportunity to run a tiny bookshop in a picturesque cove in rural Cornwall.

She thinks she’s found the perfect escape, but has she swapped one nightmare for another?

Suspense and mystery are peppered with romance and humour in this fast-paced thriller, set amidst the spectacular Cornish landscape.

Rubbish.

There are often reasons why books are free. This one is free as it’s complete rubbish! It’s like someone has taken a how to write a chick lit and mystery novel class and followed the how to’s step by step. It has every cliche in the book. Don’t waste your time.

A well-wrítten story that kept me listening.

I enjoyed the human interest & relationships in this tale which kept me guessing until the reveal near the end. A satisfying twist indeed!

Very formulaic

If you’re looking for a story that follows a recipe you’ve baked a thousand times before, this works, but has been done better by other authors.

Clichéd and boring

The storyline was clichéd and terrible, the narrator said each sentence with exactly the same cadence throughout, nasal and singsong. Kept referring to the dog owned by a main character as "it" which was completely jarring and off-putting. Not worth bothering with

A real pot boiler

It went along fine and was well written in its own way but it was not suspenseful and it was highly fanciful - perhaps I was not taking it for what it is intended to be a “summer” read. If you choose this book enjoy it for what it is - a potboiler with no real psychology or sense of place, likeable unbelievable characters who all get tied up with bow.

Evil is conquered when good people stand their ground.

Well written Despite the murders and attempted murders it wasn't a dark story. The positives that come from a sense of community living in a small 'village" was highlighted and this helped balance the violence and trauma. Narration was also good. Enjoyable.

Well constructed story

Engaging and compelling with great character development, and scene description that puts you in the scene. Very hard to stop listening!

weird volume

The recording has really poor levels of volume so you have to keep turning it up and down all the time.
