About this listen

Esther's life isn’t perfect (whose is?) - but she’s happy enough living in her little flat with her boyfriend, Josh. But that’s about to change. Bored at work, she wishes that something, anything, would happen to liven her life up. Unfortunately, her wish comes true: when Josh calls her from the airport to tell her he’s going to work in a bar in Spain and that she’s not invited, Esther is devastated, and her unhappiness is compounded when she discovers she can actually view the bar via a webcam link and watch him chatting up other girls. But when she inadvertently clicks on a link to another webcam that shows a pretty cottage and the hunky man who lives in it, her interest is piqued, and she wishes she could get to know him. Wishes don’t really come true, though - do they?

This wasn’t a particularly long book. The narrator had an easy voice to listen too and the story was simple but interesting. I felt good after listening,
Nothing was to heavy or sad. I feel like the author wanted the characters to be honest and likeable yet relatable and real. I really enjoyed it

Not a bad story but the characters needed more fleshing out. It all felt a bit too rushed to the point where the romance between the two main characters was not really believable. There was no chemistry in my opinion.

I was enjoying being part of this world. The swap between two characters was done so well, often in other books I get muddled because it's too abrupt or goes on too long. The narration was great. I'm going to miss this book now that's its over!

This story could be really good but it needs way more padding to create a scene and develop characters. I also felt that the main characters were a bit dense, they would explain to their friends etc about different situations they had been in as if they never spoke to them or that they wouldn’t remember previous conversations. This was quite strange. But I got to the end and I would give the author another try too.
