Episode One: Motormouth
We all hate awkward silences but what happens when we over compensate? Nikki meets Elise. She’s chatty and bubbly but on dates she tends to fill silences without thinking about what she’s saying.
Episode Two: Breaking the Cycle
We’ve all had our hearts broken but what happens when our past prevents us from finding new relationships? Nikki meets Belinda. She always seems to date guys that don’t deserve her time, which has lowered her self-esteem.
Episode Three: The Sex Façade
Sex can be the most intimate way we connect with one another. But what happens when it gets in the way of forming connections? Nikki meets 45-year-old Michael. He describes himself as a dating disaster and says his dates usually end up just as one night stands.
Episode Four: Letting Down the Wall
Often it’s not about finding people to date, but first working out how to present yourself in a way that shows the essence of who you are. Nikki meets Chantelle, a 41-year-old hypnotherapist and plus-size stripper. To avoid wasting time, she confronts prospective dates with exactly what she wants up front.
Episode Five: Control Freak
To form a connection sometimes we need to give up some of our self-control. Nikki meets Olym. He has a successful career but he doesn’t feel like he makes deep connections on dates. He has lost faith in finding love and needs to learn how to let go.
Episode Six: Swiped Out
If you’ve been online dating for a long time, you might start to feel app fatigue. Nikki meets PR expert Katie. She’s recently moved from the UK and looking for a relationship in Sydney. But she’s losing faith in dating apps and her confidence is going with it. Is there really no one good left on dating apps?

Well worth a listen.
I am not single but I really enjoyed listening in and hearing what people got up to on their dates. I feel like I know so many people who fit into these characters and can even see some of past self in their struggles. Was great to hear Dr Nikki find that balance between helping them in a fun way but I also found her to be entertaining at the same time. Well worth a listen.

6 simple points worth considering
Each episode is a valid point and worth considering.
However I think the book would be better as an opinion piece or education article rather than constructed therapeutic/behavioural interventions. In the case studies,
Dr Goldstein pushes her agenda on the clients to fit her point of view, respondIng to their thoughts many times with Yes But....This left me with the feeling that her interactions with clients were argumentative and superficial, which, ironically, is what Dr Goldstein emphasizes are barriers to successful relationships.

Not a fan
The "Dr" seems painfully shallow and simplistic. I got through one and a half episodes and feel a little dumber for the experience. Comparable to listening to a 15 year old try to give worldly advice based on whatever soapie or dodgy reality show they're obsessed with at the time. No thanks.

entertaining and fun with good tips for dating?
as a therapist I could see the theories underpinning the advice and the behavioural changes encouraged. What was consistent was bring to the awareness of the daters, their own beliefs and behaviours preventing flexibility and change.

Great for insights
As someone who has been single and dipped a toe into dating via apps, I found this really interesting. It helped me to consider my thoughts about dating, my style and some tools to help me get passed some negative thinking.
would have liked to hear more...seemed short, hence missing a star.

Nothing about connection but dating
I've listened to the first episode to give it a go but it was all about how to behave and dating which is too shallow to be called connection.
I would not recommend anyone to lose their time, I was expecting more.

I found Dr Goldstein's jargon-free and compassionate approach to shared exploration with her clients really heart warming. As a therapeutic professional, I learnt alot from listening to the sessions and look forward to more like this from DR Goldstein & Audible.

Interesting ideas
Interesting ideas to help daters come out of their shell. Plus, insightful how the author is able to dig in on the issues that held daters back from pursuing a relationship

Easy listening, but formulaic
I have to admit I'm not actually dating, so maybe I shouldn't be leaving a review. But I did listen to the whole podcast and these were my thoughts:
Super easy listening, I had it on in the background while working. But each episode followed the same formula. It felt like watching early evening TV, something to listen to, but it wasn't spectacular.
I think the host was trying to help the daters but each episode didn't go deep enough to become truly interesting. I would have found it better to follow up on each person or just to have one person and we followed their story through the world of dating. instead of 6 people with apparently only one problem that could be pin pointed and fixed!?!
