Publisher's Summary

Hi, my name is Bree Camden, and I’m hopelessly in love with my best friend and star quarterback Nathan Donelson (so is half of America, judging by the tabloids and how much the guy dates). The first step is admitting it, right? Except, I can never admit it to him because he clearly doesn’t see me that way, and the last thing I want is for things to get weird between us. Nothing but good old-fashioned no-touching-the-sexiest-man-alive platonic friendship for us! Everything is exactly how I like it! Yes. Good. (I’m not crying; I’m just peeling an onion.)

Our friendship is going swimmingly until I accidentally spill my beans to a reporter over too much tequila, and now the world seems to think Nathan and I belong together. Oh, and did I mention we have to date publicly for three weeks until after the Super Bowl because we signed a contract with...oops, forgot I can’t tell anyone about that!

The bottom line is that my best friend is now smudging all the lines and acting very un-platonic, and I’m just trying to keep my body from bursting into flames every time he touches me. How am I going to make it through three weeks of fake dating Nathan without anything changing between us? Especially when it almost-sorta-kinda seems like he’s fighting for a completely different outcome?

Send help.

XO Bree

Sweet Romance

I loved the characters and their sweet friendship. Even the side characters are likeable. A predictable plot line but still sweet. The narrators were perfect for the role as Bree and Nathan.bIf you love sport and sweet romance, this is your book.

Cute and light

A great simple listen. A bit of light happiness. You have a great idea of what is going to happen from the beginning, but it’s still a cute story

Loved Every Bit!

I loved every bit of this book. I became fixated on it and wanted to know how it ended as soon as possible. I love that it shows both characters' points of view and there was the perfect amount of comedy blended into this heartwarming love story.

A bit cheesy for my tastes

For me it was a bit slow and cheesy, so many ‘almost told him/her’ moments and face palm worthy misunderstandings but the banter was cute. It almost lost me at ‘I want to wait until we’re married’ but I persisted.

Annoying, stupid, anticlimactic and pointless

I was hopeful when starting that I’d have a fun rom com read with this one. But it was just…. Bleh. If it wasn’t boring it was stupid and frustrating. The characters made up random irritating reasons as to why the other persons actions couldn’t possibly just be a simple reason like they have feelings for you. I would have appreciated that listening through all the stupidity of why they’re keeping their feelings secret for years, I’d receive at least some grand reveal. Nope it was a slow burn, so okay at least give me some conflict or misunderstanding that comes between them before they get together. Nope, wasn’t given that either. If I was to summarize this book in one sentence it would be; ‘Nothing happens.’ The end.

Pick me girl loves one dimensional guy

Performances were okay, the female narrator sounded a bit like the TikTok girl though.
Storyline was bad, female lead gave very much pick me, I’m not like other girls and was judgemental and dismissive of all other women except for her sister.
Very basic stereotypical gay make up artist and sister was a mum depicted as someone who only wore bathrobes and hid in her bathroom to drink wine.
Whole premise was the female lead didn’t want to risk her friendship with her high school best friend but maybe if she had more female friends or gave other women a shot the risk wouldn’t seem so high.
Also don’t know if this is an American thing but the level of celebrity for a football player was comparable with a movie star? The characters had very little depth and there was no spice whatever
