Publisher's Summary

Hot, filthy rich, and usually irresistible, Hudson Carlyle just met the one woman in Harbor City who's immune to his legendary charm. Nerdy ant researcher Felicia Hartigan is the unsexiest dresser ever. She trips over air. And she's in love with totally the wrong man. Hudson can't stop thinking about her.

His regular moves won't work here. He's going to need a new plan, starting with helping her win over the man she thinks she wants. And if in the process she ends up falling for Hudson instead? Even better. Step one, charm her panties off. Step two, repeat step one as frequently as possible.

But what if the famous Carlyle charm finally fails him when he needs it most? Or worse, what if she figures out the one secret he's kept from everyone, including his family, and walks away for good?

Contains mature themes.

Couldn’t get over the narration

I am struggling through this one. Storyline interested me but I am bored with the Narrators voice. I found myself having to rewind multiple times due to me losing interest.

Sooo boring

I have to be completely honest and admit that I didn’t finish listening to this. After 4 failed attempts I finally gave up. There was nothing at all interesting about this story, the characters were boring, the storyline was so ridiculously stupid & I was so freaking sick of hearing “Honeypot ant” that I wanted to scream. I didn’t love the first book, it was only ok and this one is awful, I think I’ve had enough of this author.

she was a breath of fresh air

Felicia was the bump in the road he could not go around. She was just the distraction that he needed in his life. Hudson just was not expecting for her to be such a challenge. Felicia had her priorities in place and one sexy Hudson was not going to step in her way not matter what he offered her. He pushed and pushed. She relented only when she felt it would suit her. She did not see any value in the data he was offering her. She needed to have cold hard facts. Somewhere along the way that all changed. This was a nice little disctraction. Tatiana Sokolov was the added piece to the recipe that allowed for it to move forward. She maintained characters from beginning to end.

Terrible

I had listen to two of Avery Flynn’s books so I purchased this one as well and it was terrible. I couldn’t get past half of it before just giving up. I do not recommend this one.

The Charmer

Oh! I am enjoying this series so much! I started this in audio at the worst time in my life and it has kept me from breaking down. It is Hudson's turn and oh my he is in for it. He meets Felicia Hartigan, an ant researcher, a nerd from a large and loud family and she has a goal, she wants Tyler Jacobson, her childhood friend. Hudson sets himself up as her "coach" to help her get her man but what happens when all the moves and grooves he teaches Felicia work for him and her and they fall in love...oh my...So, so, good!

disappointed

just too farfetched. supposedly wants to get together with her longtime love crush, but will have sex regularly with Hudson for some training. . What's with ladies accepting clothes for events from not really a friend. you can have a romance where the heroin is independent. Art show with only paintings of Felicia, off the wall.

Cute, sexy romance

I enjoyed everything about this romance. It had great characters and featured a well-developed love story between Felicia and Hudson. The dialogue was entertaining and the sex scenes were steamy. Usually, romances that rely heavily on misunderstandings annoy me because the conflict can be resolved easily by the main characters having a simple, adult conversation. In this book, however, the growing feelings between Felicia and Hudson occur in such a way that you understand why Felicia and Hudson both keep their feelings to themselves for as long as they did. They each look for signs to be able to open up, but they also both misinterpret what they see/hear. Overall, this is an enjoyable, well-written romance.

Ant Scientist? Secret Artist? My Fair lady? Yeah!

I am pleasantly surprised this went so well. I have been finding that the weirder the circumstances, the better the story lately. Maybe because I am getting bored of the stereotypical romance lately. So many with the same plot and the same cliches. I like different and this had a bit different. The Hero Hudson was the real winner here. It seemed like he had it all before this started, but what he found out about himself along the way allowed him to finally find himself with real happiness. The Heroine Felicia already knew what she wanted, but only what her mind would tell her and nothing from the heart. Her "plans" revolved around what she thought would work well for her and she was comfortable with. Some nerves, but nothing heart pounding. Both had no clue. Neither could see past their plans until they were forced to spend time together. The performance was well done and I recommend their story. I read these out of order so don't miss the start of the Hartigan's stories in Butterface or The Ice Knights series after that. Up next for me is The Schemer. Enjoy!

the secret painter

Loved this! The storyline is fun, flirty, and super enjoyable! The narrator did great. I would recommend listening to the first book in the series before this one.
