American accents!

The opening lines caught me off guard, American accents, where’s Sean Duffy? I pre ordered on Audible months ago, didn’t recall what it was about. It’s a book by Adrian McKinty so it has to be good, and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely enthralling. Highly recommended.

Excruciating

I’ve read and enjoyed every other book by Adrian McKinty. I think it was only disbelief that made me finish this.

unbelievable premise, cheap twists, bland writing

I can't believe the author quotes on the cover for this one. had to listen on 1.5 speeds just to get through to the inevitable conclusion. The narrator performs very well though across accents.

Not believable

I was never convinced the chain would work and the ending seemed contrived. McKinty’s Irish books are streets better - more poetic and full of wit and real human feelings. The feelings in the Chain never seemed real.

Started off strong but rest is lacking

I enjoyed the first part of the book. The actual kidnapping was really good and engaging. I could not stop listening my it was the second portion that was bland and boring.
