Story
Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

Publisher's Summary
Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. While his put-upon partner, Watson, would be happy to keep the jobs as simple as missing pets, when a worried worker with an outlandish tale of ghosts walks in, there's no stopping Sherman from taking the case.
Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected. With Sherman lost in the history of the mystery, Watson finds himself needing to adapt quickly to his new job's unique challenges.
Facing booby-trapped halls to navigate, pesky former coworkers popping in without warning, and growing attention from a local criminal element, even an operative of Watson's talents is going to need some help getting through this case alive.
Instead, he has Sherman Holmes.

Such a fun story.
I have been on a “horror” binder for the last few months. This was my first step away from that genre and it was so great. I laughed and worried. All the things you want from this type of story. If you like fun not too serious YA type stories you’ll enjoy this one. These characters and the adventures they find themselves on could lead to one of the greatest and most unending series of all time. I just see endless possibilities. I can not wait for the next and hope for dozens more.

Such a great sequel
Hayes hits it out of the park again, with this book. the first was amazing. And set a solid foundation for an epic series (If you've read his other books, I mean epic quality. some of his other books are epic long... And quality!) part 2 builds on that with a cosy mystery, worthy of Sherlock himself. But now we get to know Sherman, and Watson a little more, and see their world expand. I can't wait for book 3!

The second Book is Better than the First!!!!!!
This the second book in the 5minute Sherlock serries (assuming there will be more) enters with the first and second case for the new detective agency.
This has the fun feel of those detective novels I read as a kid, for me it was The Three Investigators, other is was the Hardie Boys or may be Nancy Drew. Now I am not saying that it a childish book (although the laugh able moments on occasion are) but the feeling it gives me. The rush, the pleasure the joy of a fun adventure mystery.
I can not say enough on how much joy and fun this put into my day!

As a lover of Sherlock Holmes, this tickles me
This series is everything you'd want for a sci-fi Holmes story! Fun, witty, off the walls, and full of mystery.
It really is a good buckle up for the ride story :) With lots of clever off-brand references (like a centaur in the woods through a wardrobe).

Scooby dooby dooo!
Love Drew Hayes. Loved the first book of this series. This book felt like a place holder while we wait for Drews better work to come along. That being said, its Drew Hayes, the story telling is the highest caliber, I just wish it had maintained the originality that is inherent to Drew.

A great sequel to book 1
First off I recommend listening to book 1 as it’s just as great. That said you can listen to this as a stand alone as there is a brief catch up but you will miss a lot of the backstory
The story follows Sherman Holmes a man who has been experimented on and once a day can get enhanced mental abilities for 5 minutes. He’s joined by Watson a secret agent who works as his handler and assistant. As the self proclaimed world’s greatest detective this is his first official case.
The main story is engaging and there are a few sub story lines that seem to set up for future books. The main story line does finish and is an enjoyable mystery. It’s a cozy mystery than something dark and graphic. It did remind me of a Scooby-Doo adventure in some of the humour and plot. As well as feeling nostalgic it makes it a fun mystery.
Narrator is the same as book 1, which I enjoy for continuity especially in pronouncing words. The voices for each character can be easily distinguished. They put a lot of emotion into the voices.
