About this listen

Leading New Testament scholar Robert M. Price has taken umbrage at the cavalier manner in which Rev. Lee Strobel has misrepresented the field of Bible scholarship in his book The Case for Christ. Price exposes and refutes Strobel's arguments chapter-by-chapter. In doing so, he has occasion to wipe out the entire field of Christian apologetics as summarized by Strobel. This book is a must-read for anyone bewildered by the various books published by Rev. Strobel.

This isn't easy listening. It takes concentration. Price delves into all the apologetics of Stroebel and the academics Stroebel interviews in his original book. He identifies where apologists try to pull the wool over the reader's eyes, what 'facts' are disputable and why, and where the academic simply was not asked the questions that would have unearthed an unwelcome answer to Stroebel's question. He also makes it abundantly clear that Stroebel's conversion to Christianity from atheism had little to do with rational arguments (using his own quotes), even though his whole apologetic is based on that narrative. An excellent book, but one that needs a second or third listen.
