Story
Joel Selwood’s remarkable leadership is well-known across AFL football. Selwood will not only go down in history as an icon of the game – a record breaker – but also as a selfless leader who supported his team through one of the club’s most successful periods in its history. After Selwood was made captain of the team in 2012, Geelong made the finals in all but one season, playing in seven preliminary finals and two Grand Finals – culminating in Geelong’s tenth premiership in 2022. Now, for the first time, Selwood tells his story in his own words.

Story
Bachar Houli is as accomplished an AFL footballer as they come. He's been part of two Richmond Premiership sides, he was an All-Australian in 2019, and with more than 200 games to his name he remains a key part of a champion team. Picked at number 42 in the 2006 National Draft by Essendon, Houli played 26 games for the Bombers before moving in 2011 to Tigerland, where rookie Coach Damien Hardwick was assembling the team that six years later would achieve the seemingly impossible and claim Richmond's 11th Premiership.

Story
Roughy is the story of a footballer who lived the dream, the country boy who not only became an AFL star, but was a key player in a Hawthorn team that will be remembered as one of the greats of any era. Success didn't change him, which made him all the more relatable, as if in spirit he was still having a kick with the Leongatha Parrots and a beer with his mates at the local pub. When in 2015 a spot on his bottom lip was diagnosed as melanoma, we could relate to him all the more.

Sultan tells the story of cricket's greatest left-arm bowler, and one of its enduring survivors, who was chosen from the streets of Lahore and groomed by Imran Khan to become champion of the world—he was Man of the Match in the final of the 1992 World Cup which Pakistan won. Along the way were unforgettable rivalries with the legends of his time, from Viv Richards and Ian Botham to Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. All of this against a backdrop of conspiracy and intrigue over ball tampering and match-fixing, about which Wasim finally sets the story straight.

Through nine years as a columnist with The Age, Bob Murphy revealed himself to be a very different footballer indeed. Shunning the stern-faced statistical analysis that dominates the AFL landscape, he revisited the things about the game that captivated him as a child. His words were the smells of leather and liniment leaping off the page. Gentle, romantic, funny, whimsical, thoughtful, sad - Murphy’s writing is rich, tender yet powerful, above all achingly human.

He is responsible for incredible moments so ingrained in basketball history that they have their own names: The Shrug, The Shot, The Flu Game. But for all his greatness, there's also a dark side to Jordan: a ruthless competitor, a gambler. There's never been a biography that balanced these personas-until now.

Publisher's Summary
EPILOGUE NARRATED BY THE AUTHOR.
In his gritty and inspirational memoir, Jack Riewoldt reveals all about his remarkable AFL career and his personal journey of growth off the field.
Jack grew up in picturesque Tasmania, playing sport with his family and admiring his older cousin Nick. When Nick was drafted in the AFL, Jack’s focus shifted to footy, and that competitive drive helped Jack become one of Richmond’s most beloved and prolific players.
The Bright Side dives into every important win, including Richmond’s recent premierships, as well as the losses that helped Jack learn and build resilience. Jack’s positive attitude has helped him overcome a brush with cancer, the loss of his much-loved cousin Maddie – sister of Nick Riewoldt, with whom Jack remains a spokesman for the charity in her name – and the misunderstanding that has dogged much of his career.
In The Bright Side, Jack finally corrects some of the misperceptions. From mischievous youngster to revered leader of the game, it’s family and community that has pulled Jack through, and allowed him to become an AFL legend.
The book includes a foreword by Gerard Whateley.

I really enjoyed hearing about Jack’s journey. It was well written, detailed and captivating.
I didn’t enjoy Rew’s pronunciation of key people’s names or places, eg. Launceston. But he told Jack’s story well.

Good story spoiled by narration
I`m NOT a Richmond fan, but became a Jack Riewoldt fan watching him over the years on AFL360. Its a really good story., described in wonderful detail.
BUT .. This book would be better read page by page, NOT as an audio book due to the poor pronunciation of many important names and an apparent lack of understanding of the game of AFL by the narrator.
Audio edits / additions were clearly noticeable and sub-standard.
These two factors really spoiled the 'book' for me.
I would NOT recommend this as an audio experience if you are a footy fan.
