After losing his only son and his beloved wife, Joseph Finley found himself alone in a world that he did not fully understand. As a writer, he spent most of his time lost in fictional worlds. His love for antiques and rare historical items kept him busy while he found himself staying at the hotel that he owned but rarely visited. While he prided himself on not being seen at the Brick and Rose, relationships grew like the roses in the garden. Mr. Finley found himself in Room Four for much longer than he anticipated and while the staff of the hotel started to become more like the family he had lost, there were more adventures ahead of him. Wishes were made, celebrated food was prepared, Easter eggs were colored, Christmas decorations covered the century old hotel and Joseph Finley found a home and a family that he never expected
