Publisher's Summary

My orders are simple. Capture her. Marry her. Take her inheritance. Get rid of her.

The bookish little recluse is worth more than she knows. She’s an unassuming librarian. I’m the brigadier of the Russian Bratva. She has no friends. I command a small army.

She’s a modest woman. And now she’s mine.

AWESOME NARRATION

This took me a bit to get into, but once I did I loved it. This is a dark romance so you need to read this book with an open mind because it does cover some 'non-consensual' scenes, although later the scenes are repeated, but this time with mutual agreement. All that sounds really formal and informative so I'm going to tell you how I felt about it now. The romance in this book was awesome. I loved how this book brought forth the idea of love vs possession, as well as the balance of loyalty. The female protagonist in this does seem slightly weak, but she has got an inner strength and you have to remember while reading this that allowing someone to do something to your body, that you might not like, does not make you weak but instead allows you to become resilient. In this instance though, Sadie is found to end up liking her relationship between her and Kazimir. This book is more slow-burn than most books but the whole thing has a huge sexual charge throughout. I listened to this as an audiobook and loved the accent, it took a little bit to understand all the words but when I did I was so grateful that I chose this as an audiobook instead of having just read it. If you think this is for you, give it a go. I loved this book!

Sexy & Bittersweet

A sexy sweetly dark capture romance with a thick Russian accent. The end is a bit rushed, but otherwise the story flows nicely.

The lighter side of dark

I think this is a great starter book for anyone who’s been interested in reading a dark/taboo romance but is scared of some of the more intense troupes i.e. rape, abuse and incest. There are actually some pretty tender moments and it’s easy to root for this couple. I enjoyed the writing style and was entertained all the way through. There are some background story-lines I had some questions about but they may be explored further in other books in the series. It took me a minute to adjust to the narrators Russian accent but once I did I was fully invested. If you are like me and wondered what the heck Bratva is it is a like the Russian mafia. If you are into mafia romance, OTT alphas and dominance this is the book for you.

Fly me to Russia!

In the mood for a dark listen? A Russian accent? A beauty and a beast type tale? This one is the perfect listen. Jane Henry has written a fast paced, dark yet passionate story. Give me a Russian mafia, romantic suspense book and I am happy. Sadie and Kazimir's story is a slow burn, yet sexually charged. Kazimir, a Bratva enforcer, abducts meek librarian, Sadie with the intent of marrying her for her money. Sadie has no idea her past, and cannot understand why she has been whisked away to Russia and is being held captive. And being trained. And falling for her captor! Kazimir is an alpha male, always dominant and I just love him. From the first time I met him in the story, I was hoping for a rough exterior with a teddy bear heart. But you just never can tell with these men! Sadie who seemed timid turns out to have quite the spirit, but when it comes to Kazimir, will she submit? Not for those that don't enjoy some BDSM, spanking and erotic scenes, but I found it so well written, and passionate, I was completely captivated. This is Jane Henry's best book to date and I can't wait for the next one! Choosing a narrator who can pull off a Russian accent is not the easiest thing to do, but Wen Ross was the perfect choice. His accent, his inflection and his delivery was so good, I could not stop listening. This is one of his best performances that I have listened to and look forward to his continuation of the series!

Dark Russian Romance!

This is a dark Russian mafia romance, in the Wicked Doms World. Sadie and Kashmir's story is intense, and emotional. They share an undeniable, hot, and strong D/s chemistry. Sadie, is a librarian, and Kashmir is a brigadier of the Russian Bratva. The story has some dark scenes, sometimes difficult to listen to. I haven't read a lot of dark romance, but Jane Henry never disappoints and gives us a well written dark story, with great characters, and a great storyline, well described and well developed. Wen Ross did an amazing job with the narration. If you like dark romance, you should like this one.

Wen did not disappoint!

This audible was hot, some violence, sexy, and everything you would hope a Russian/Bratva book to be. The storyline was realistic in the Bratva world anyway. Wen did an excellent job with both female and male voices. I hope this series continue with the other men in the Bratva and please do not change the narrator. Wen brought this audible alive! Great job J Henry.

Good and dark

This was a enjoyable listen, mainly because of Wen Ross, but the storyline is also good. The story lacked that little something (connection between the main characters perhaps) that makes it excellent. * Characters are well described but as said before lacking something... * No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings. * Plenty of dialogues * The storyline has a nice progression It’s a dark story but still has elements of sweetness in it. The ending is a little abrupt but it’s HEA so who cares 💜 Narrator is excellent, clear pronunciation and soothing voice. 🎧 #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great audio

How the mighty have fallen! You have to love such a hardened character to be brought to his knees by unexpected love. The overall concept and behind the scene dealings of the bratva was of course a bit disturbing but I liked how Kazimir changed through his relationship with Sadie. I really liked Sadie's character. She may have seemed like a simple inexperienced nuance of a young girl but she was strong, passionate and above all utterly kind. The Bratva's Baby was a great story by Jane Henry. Wen Ross did an astonishing job with this narration. The russian accent was spot on and I liked the voices he used for the female characters too. The quality of the recording was also spotless. 🎧AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Dark and Steamy!!!

I love this story line. I am a sucker for a kidnap and fall in love story. I did not like the H at first, but then he would do or say something that had me swooning. I loved the h in this book. I have read so many books that portray librarians as mousy and meek, but our h is tough and feisty. I really enjoyed the ending of this book as well. Wen Ross is a narrating GOD!!!! He makes this story great. #audiobookobsession

A WICKEDLY SEXY DARK MAFIA LISTEN!

THE BRATVA’S BABY was bewitching. Wickedly Wanton. Edgy and raw. And so intoxicating I am still riding an euphoric high! I swear Jane Henry ups her game with each new dark romance she pens, and I was transfixed by this enthralling mafia tale from page one. This book truly has all—torrid passion, exciting melodrama, adrenaline pumping suspense, and spine-tingling peril! As for the romance, OMG Sadie and Kazimir’s chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS! Their connection was immediate—and electrifying—and so tantalizingly kinky I panted my way through their sizzling erotic interludes! Gah...talk about a SAVAGELY BEAUTIFUL anti-hero that gives you goosebumps! Kazimir Romanov, brigadier of the Bratva, is big, stern, predatory and oh so powerfully commanding. As the Bratva’s head enforcer, he is man to be obeyed and blood will be shed by anyone who dares to cross him. And I pity the poor soul who tries to harm Sadie, the lovely little librarian whom he’s claimed as his! Except that’s where things get a tad complicated. Battle lines are drawn as Kazimir is torn between his fierce loyalty to his Bratva family, and his all-consuming feelings for the sweet, shy, achingly innocent captive who inflames his every wicked desire. When he first abducted Sadie, his plan was solidly in place: “Marry her, obtain her inheritance, then get rid of her.” But as hard as he tries to stay cold and detached and keep Sadie from infiltrating his steely defenses, her kind yet feisty disposition and eventual sweet supplication nearly brings him to his knees. He might be her captor but “krasotka,” wields more control over him than he could ever envision. And with time running out, and her pretty neck on the line, he will do ANYTHING to protect her. I just ADORED the evolution of their romance as we got to bear witness to Sadie and Kazimir falling in love amid a backdrop of danger, violence, treachery and deception. And I especially loved how against all odds these two broken souls become whole again and open each other’s worlds to beautiful new possibilities. Bottom line: I really cannot RAVE enough about THE BRATVA’S BABY! I was completely swept up into the dark, dangerous Bratva’s world Ms. Henry created, which sets the stage for future installments of Wicked Doms! My only slight surprise was in regard to how the Bratva plotline eventually unfolded. Once everything came to a head in the final chapters, I was expecting a deadly showdown between Dimitri and Kazimir, with Sadie caught in the bloody crossfire, but the author took a different tact which I will say still had me on the edge of my seat! Just in a slightly different way than I was anticipating. And while I would have enjoyed a slightly grittier climax, overall I was quite pleased with the resolution. Especially in regard to the SWOONY HEA, which made me gloriously happy! NARRATION: Wen Ross’s narration of Kazimir was hypnotizing!!! His deep, raspy, Russian brogue was SO SEDUCTIVELY SEXY, it melted my panties and made me quake with desire! He was perfectly cast as this dark, dangerous antihero and infused Kazimir with a perfect blend of rough-edged male dominance, breathtaking tenderness and fierce protectiveness. I loved how his voice could shift so seamlessly from a harsh growl to soft and soothing, depending on the mood of the scene, and he did an amazing job seguing into the Sadie role too!! Ultimately, Mr. Ross delivered a truly ASTOUNDING audio performance that gave me all the shivery feels! Highly recommend!

Hot Russian meets meek librarian

Kazimir, a Russian mob enforcer, is sent to kidnap Sadie, a meek librarian. I like how the personalities of these characters are not what they first appear to be. Because of this, Kazimir and Sadie find themselves falling for each other. But will he be able to protect her and her child, or will he stay loyal to the mob. I loved the development of characters and plot in this book. Wen Ross does an excellent job with his sexy Russian accent. I received this Audible book in exchange for a review. I highly recommend this Audible book.

Bratva and the bookworm

Wen Ross has one of the sexiest voices ever. when I first started and I heard his female voice I was like 😑. I couldn't tell the difference from his male and female voice BUT and it's a huge BUT I continued to listen and my ears must have adjusted to his voice because it sounded good. So if this is the case for you try giving your ears a chance to modify because it's a great book. If you're like me and like a hot bearish man doling out spankings (in your books) this is going to make you very happy. If you don't get it anyway because it's a lot more than spankings

My Thoughts on Bratva's Baby

I really enjoyed this story. Jane Henry is really growing on me the more books of hers that I read. They're well written, always give me great characters and give me the ending I crave. The road to that ending might be dark and twisty at times but it's excellent all the same. The narrator for this one is one of my favorites. Wen Ross just has an amazing voice. I always feel he preforms the story so well and gives exactly what it calls for at the time. The only thing I wished for during this audiobook was that Sadie's parts had a female narrator. I had no complaints about how Wen did, I just personally am partial to at least having dual narration if I can't have my favorite duet style. I absolutely recommend this story.

Must Read

The Bratva’s Baby by Jane Henry is book one in the Wicked Doms Series that I listened to on audio narrated by Wen Ross. This is the second book of Jane’s that I have read and look forward to reading to more of her books in the future. I enjoyed the fact that the book switched between Kazimir and Sadie’s point of view. I love when you can really dive into the characters head. Wen did an amazing job on the narration. I absolutely loved his voice for Kazimir. I loved that he used different tones/accent for each character. It made it really easy to follow along with the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves BDSM, Alpha Males, Hostage, or Romance Books. #AudiobookObessionReviwer #AudiobookObsession

Great story and narration!!!

This book fits the series name to a T! There where so many times I wanted to hate the main character but then something would happen and I couldn't help but fall a little more in love with him! I'm looking forward to reading more in the Wicked Doms series! The narration was absolutely amazing! Wen Ross did an amazing Russian accent and then switched to a timid female voice seamlessly! 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

A different kind of mafia man

I would never know how it feels to be kidnapped and taken to a foreign country. Scary!! But this books makes it sound dreamy, mostly because of the happy ending. Sexy scenes, suspense and a bit of dom/sub themes. The sweet librarian and the intimidating mafia guy with the smoldering accent. Wen Ross' voice made me swoon... #AudiobookObssession 🎧♥️

Russian Bad Guy finds love

I enjoyed this audiobook even though it isn't my go to genre. Kazimir is a leader in the Russian Bratva and his mission is to capture and marry Sadie, sweet librarian with a past she doesn't yet realize and their journey begins when he takes her back to Russia. She is his prisoner and he is cruel but also has concern for her hidden inside. Their story has more to it than he thought they would have. This was my first book by Jane Henry and I enjoyed it. I absolutely love Wen Ross and like all others he did a great job narrating. I received a code to listen and review and give my honest opinion. I enjoyed the story for the most part. I really enjoyed the narration, that was my favorite part. If you don't mind men overpowering women and then the woman falling for her capture then you will probably like this book as well. #Audiobook Obsessions

Bravo for Bratva's Baby

I'm not much of a mafia movie or story fan, but this book is so well written I LOVED IT! I have to also say that Wen Ross gave a phenominal voice to Kazmir's deeply clipped, hard edged broken English, as well as the constantly thinking Sadie. Kidnapped, dominated and forced to married, Kazmir demands many things from Sadie but what he doesn't expects is her logic and intellect. This story is so well plotted that I felt like I was observing it in real time. I loved the personality and thought process of Sadie, Ms Henry gave her and not a damsel in distress. I grew attached to the characters and their quirks, regardless if they were right or wrong, and it kept me interested and engaged throughout to the HEA.
