This is a great read from the G.A. Aiken Dark Plains world. A hilarious novel of a Blacksmith family who argue vigorously and love hugely. Throw in an evil sister, demon dogs, (sorry wolves), centaurs, dwarfs and dragons, and a ripping good yarn follows. Louise Williams is amazing in this narration, bringing bright life to this smartly written novel.

not my favorite G.A. Aiken book. it felt unpolished and like it was missing a few sentences here and there. not a lot of backstory so didn't have much of a connection with the characters. wish there had been a bit more romance.
