Loved this book. You cheer for the main character almost from the start. Her bravery and courage are amazing to listen to. She explains the reasons why you stay, and the reasons why you shouldn't. Highly recommend.

Really loved this ... an true insight into domestic violence written in an engaging way. I liked the way that the author included the perpetrators backgrounds, from which you were able to perhaps not understand the violence but understand the circumstances from which both victim and perpetrator came from. Junes ability to navigate what came is inspiring. I couldn't 'put this down'!

What an incredible woman for sharing her life! I honestly couldn’t put it down. I kept wanting to find out what would happen next. I don’t think this will ever leave my mind. I absolutely recommend this incredible book!

WOW, This was a real eye opener. The fact that it is a true story made my sick to my stomach.
The only time I felt any form of joy during the reading of this book, was when it was confirmed that he was dead.
But I must admit, even then I thought his death was too quick for him, he didn't deserve such an easy death.
And she should never have gone to jail.

This is a book that was almost impossible to (put down) pause. A heartbreaking and tragic story of one women's horrific upbringing which was compounded by the terrible injustice of being sentenced for murder and serving 10 years in prison. A must read.
While listening to this story one cannot help but to think about the many thousands of other women suffering domestic violence abuse who will never get the opportunity to escape their situations.

I could not stop listening to this audio book … the story of June is so well written that I felt every emotion as of it were happening to me! I can not believe the hell this poor woman endured!
