Publisher's Summary

Return to Lancaster County with the first installment of Amy Clipston's charming new Amish Marketplace series.

Christiana Kurtz loves to bake, but when her bake stand becomes too busy, her mother encourages her to move her business to the local market. Her new bake shop becomes so inundated with customers that the line blocks the leather and woodcraft shop next door, which is run by Jeffrey Stoltzfus. When Jeffrey complains that her stand is driving away business due to the lines, she complains to him that his personalization machine smells. Though their relationship starts off on bad footing, they eventually forge a friendship.

When Christiana’s father makes a surprise visit to the market, he is upset to find that Jeffrey uses the building’s electricity to personalize his items. He tells Christiana that Jeffrey is too modern for her, and she’s forbidden from dating him. Christiana is crushed, but she knows she must obey her father.

When Jeffrey’s shop catches fire one day, he puts the entire market in jeopardy - including Christiana’s bake shop. Christiana, however, can’t deny how she feels about Jeffrey despite his mistakes. Though the odds are against them, can two young people find a way to rebuild both their businesses and their relationship?

Not exactly a romance fan, but hey

It was a good story. A little overboard with the same Pa Dutch/German words. If I heard wunderbar one more time I was going to scream. It was predictable in some spots and ended quickly. The narrator did a great job with the variety of voices.

Wonderful Amish Story

This is a very nice and easy read. There is a little insight into the Amish culture and a refreshing, light, entertaining listen. Enjoyed every word. The narrator was excellent!!

Light and Fluffy, but seems inaccurate

I picked this up on a recent audible sale. I haven't read an amish romance in a while, and was looking for something light and not very serious. this book does fit, but I am 5 hours in to this book, and am struggling to finish the final 2. The narrator is quite wooden and robotic, with no pauses between scenes. I could deal with this, but I like accurate portrayals of characters and I feel like the author of this book has not done a lot of research into Amish culture. I was surprised to find she had written other Amish romances. Most prominently, she keeps using the terms 'dating' and 'boyfriend/girlfriend'. The main character, a 25 year old Amish girl, admits to the man she is interested in that she has had several boyfriends. This isnt an issue to me as a whole, except I don't think casual dating is allowed in this culture except maybe in certain situations, but that is never elaborated on in the book.
