A rollercoaster!

The title is very misleading, but don't be put off - it is a fantastic book! I would definitely recommend this book if you like thrillers that keep you guessing till the end.

Slow Babysitter!

No tip for this "Babysitter"! The beginning and middle of this book were both very, very, very, very slow, and repetitive. After listening to the book for 4.5 hours, I couldn't take it anymore and made the decision to skip ahead and listen to the last hour of the book because I wanted to know who killed the babysitter and what happened to the baby. I also wanted to know what happened to the book's editor. Did the editor fall asleep while reading the first half of this book? This 11-hour book easily could have been an 8-hour book with a skilled editor. Although the first part of the book was painfully slow, the last hour of the book was superb. Unfortunately, it took the author ten hours of dialogue to get her act together. The book's plot was brilliant and it was too bad that the author just could not get all of the pieces of this thriller right. This book only had one narrator and would have benefitted from multiple narrators. The book unfolded from several POVs and two different time periods. This being said, it was difficult to identify who was who, as well as the time period that was being referenced. This book could have been one of my favorite reads of 2020, but it wasn't. Very disappointing.

A Solid Mystery Thriller which keeps you guessing!

I have been disappointed by so many "Thrillers" of late and have not had the interest to finish them but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not an amazingly gripping read but a good, well thought out thriller which keeps you guessing. Strong points - nice visit to France location wise, plenty of twists and all is not as it seems. Weaker points - too many nutters. Serious need of medication for many of the characters, Overall, very entertaining, a little unbelievable but not gritty or gory for those like me who enjoy whodunnits which engage the brain without overly violent, disturbing or dark, upsetting themes. Excellent narration as always by Stephanie Racine makes it an all round winner. Given the fact that good thrillers with decent narration seem thin on the ground these days - this is a good option.

Gripping storyline, strong narration. Altogether hugely satisfactory. Made me want to listen to more by this author.

Dull and Drawn Out

About six hours into this book I just wanted it to end I would have returned it had I not already turned a book prior to this one so I stuck it out but it was tortuous. I guessed the "twist" about half way through as it was pretty obvious. I think what made this book so hard to stick with was the fact that none of the characters were likeable I had no empathy with any of them and could not care less what happened to them. Without a spoiler alert its hard to comment on the disappearance of the baby other than to say if you get that far suspend belief !

Good book to listen to

Good book even though I guessed it had something to do with the person the police wasn't looking at first of all. Nice ending to

I really enjoyed this book even though I guessed who the culprit was half way through. This had me hooked from the start. I kept waking thinking about it so had to keep listening through the night.

Keeps you guessing till the last page.

Well written and a thoroughly good read. I enjoyed the twists and turns as I tried to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I would definitely recommend.
