Good listen

This is one of the better Preston Walker stories, it did keep me interested and listening a solid story line with just enough angst and mystery, Manning really does a great job with the narration

Love in spite of it all....

Ray is a strong alpha returning from war. Sil is a blind artist with only hopes of meeting his alpha for life. Pack politics, unwanted advances, and banishment to another pack. Lay the background for one of the best Preston Walker audio books I've had the fortune to hear. Martel Manning did an excellent job as well. I highly recommend this audio book.

Solid narrator pretty good story

This story has a good narrator and I really enjoyed hearing about Sil and his development as a character that being said this was a good story and I like the way it developed, but not my favorite by the author. Still a really enjoyable story to listen to.

Love always wins out in the end

This story is full of angst, deceit and lies, told by people who did not want Ray and Sil to get their happy ever after. But in the end they won and walked over everyone and got what they both needed and wanted. I really rooted for these two guys and was so glad to see that they did not give up and realized that what they needed and wanted was worth fighting for. Mr. Manning's narration added to the over all listening enjoyment of this book. An avid reader in Rock Tavern, NY.

Disabled! I don’t think so!

An alpha looking to make his parents life safer. Moves to a new pack and becomes enthralled with his new man. His crazy self forgot to ignore his home pack omega who’s stalking him. A lot of angst and a good ending. Thanks

Blind Love

I like the narrators voice for Sil. Sil is a near by pack alpha's blind omega son. Sil's father believes it is time for his son to be mated and to stop selling his art to the humans. For reasons unknown to Sil, Ray is chosen to be Sil's mate.
I did not like the narrators voice for Ray. The narrators voice for Ray gives me a picture of a dumb jock. The voice made me doubt Ray and over judge him for the mistakes and important details he does not share with other people. Ray's pack alpha makes him leave the his pack to mate with a omega son of a near by pack as punishment. Ray has to leave famliy and friends to the join the new pack.

Ray & Sil

While I enjoyed the overall story, Sil's father automatically believing a stranger sits wrong with me, especially after the discussion he and Ray just had. I am grateful Sil was so much stronger than anyone else.

omega's lust

The head alpha panders to the lies of his spoiled son Maren. and Ray gets sent to another pack to marry. Immature, jealous, power hungry, and soulless Maren continues to wreak havoc to get Ray back. So much evil in Ray's old pack!!! Loss and sadness, but a ray of hope survives with Sil and hope for the future . I felt empathy with Ray and Sil and hoped for the best for them. What a wild ride!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job.

Alpha by popular demand!

Ray was not raised to be the Alpha of the pack but he has natural talent. Though his Alpha and a devious omega make his life hell, he finds love in an unexpected turf. I love how Sil looks at life and even though he is blind, flourishes when he paints. They are so right for each other even when neither of them believes it. A little bit of action, suspense, a pack takeover and a lovely romance.

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

My Review

Although the story of the alpha starting off on the wrong foot with the omega was really good the narrator was a bit bland and not very passionate.

Don't force it - What will be will be

I have been given this audio book as an advanced listener.

Well I enjoyed it so much that I listened in one go. (It's a good thing it didn't interrupt my chores!).
This is an alpha /omega were-shifter story. I liked the two main characters Ray and Sil, who were perfectly imperfect and the other key characters were clearly sketched out.
Although there were a couple of steamy sex scenes they were right for the burgeoning relationship which was the main storyline, along with seeing what some people will do for power which includes the total disregard of others thoughts or feelings, wanting overrides every social norm. As well as the cruelty of some, which they think makes them appear powerful to others.
Note. I do not think the book summary of why Ray is banished from his pack is accurate.
This is the first time that I have listened to the narrator Martel Manning and I was impressed with the variety within his voice as he gave the characters life.
I haven't looked at a Preston Walker book for a while but I will get back to him after listening to this story.
