Publisher's Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

March 1997. A woman has her throat cut behind a bar in Mississippi.

Just down the road is a big army base. Is the murderer a local guy - or is he a soldier?

Jack Reacher, still a major in the military police, is sent in undercover.

The county sheriff is a former U.S. Marine - and a stunningly beautiful woman. Her investigation is going nowhere. Is the Pentagon stonewalling her? Or is she trying not to find the killer?

Set just six months before the opening of Killing Floor, The Affair marks a turning point in Reacher's career.

If he does what the army wants, will he be able to live with himself? And if he doesn't, will the army be able to live with him?

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, The Affair is 16th in the series.

Reacher at his finest.

Probably my favourite Reacher so far. Highly recommended. I love his brand of justice.

The Affair: Jack Reacher

I have listened to a number of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. I would rate this book really highly. It’s a very engaging story and the truth is not revealed till right at the end. Fantastic listening.

The Affair - One to Remember

This Jack Reacher takes us back in time to a Military investigation involving brutally murdered women, a coverup and a good looking sheriff. Reacher has a lot to deal with in this book and 'dollars to donuts' he will figure it out somehow. The problem is will he want to find out who the killer really is? Definitely a good listen.

Not the readers fault but…..

Really annoyed by the constant “ I said” “She said” in the conversations between Reacher and Devereux and other characters when totally unnecessary

GREAT LEAD UP

I love Reacher stories that are retrospective, and look at his cases during his service years. This one is a fabulous lead up to The Killing Floor, and explains why he ended up opting out. I loved how it bought Neagly and Dixon into it, and even his brother and Margate. Typical Reacher style and justice that true fans have come to love. Fabulous story. Totally recommend.
