can't wait for the next book. the characters were believable, the air ships were fantastic and the plot was pretty solid. clearly the book is meant to be part of a series.

for me it was better than the Dresden files.

the core story and world are very good to start with. Then add the voice acting and I found it a deeply compelling book.

just the use of voice acting alone each character became distinct and nuanced. my favourite would have to be Folly. You get a feel for her eccentricity and humanity.

This story has all the hall marks of the beginning of an epic steam punk fantasy. The world it takes place in is richly detailed and the the plot barrels along at a very brisk pace. The. Narration was superb and I became totally immersed within the skilful story telling. I can’t wait for the next book.

I had no idea what steam punk was but have found out I like it. I've just listened to this for a second time because there was a gap between this book and the second. I think it says a lot about a book that I enjoyed it even the second time! Deep characters, great story, what's not to love.
