Publisher's Summary

USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn’s second book in the Getting Lucky series brings heart, humor, and heat back to Port Snow.

There are two little words every small-town man dreads:

She’s back.

Harper Sanders, the girl who was supposed to be my forever, has returned to Port Snow, Maine, for good - and she’s bringing back memories of our shared past.

We once had a bright future together, but when tragedy struck, I threw it all away and pushed her out of my life. People in our small town think I’m cursed, but I know better. I did it all to myself.

And now she’s creating a life of her own in the place where we first fell in love. I can’t fight my feelings for her - or the strong attraction that keeps pulling us together. But after all this time, can she forgive the past and fall in love with me all over again?

Everyone hopes to find that forever girl…I just hope I haven’t lost mine for good.

That Forever Girl

I am loving this series and Rogan and Harper started as best friends that turns to love in high school. As true love is, they settle on the same college where Rogan is a star football player until a reckless accident at a frat party takes away his career and eventually the demons in his soul lead to him ending his relationship with Harper and going back home. This story is told in past and present and at times is heart breaking and at others is filled with so much joy. Harper is back in town now and running into Rogan all the time. Now with the movie company coming to town she has been hired to find all the places to film around town and ends up working with Rogan. Can they work together? Will they find their way back together? Can they learn to trust and love again? This series is so, so good!

Beautiful and Warm

Loved Rogan and Harper. Such a heart warming story. Just the right hint of erotica, based on true love. Can't wait for The Secret Crush book 3. Please come straight to audible and used the same narrator❤❤❤.

Ouch, my heart!

Oh wow, that was a rough ride. What Harper and Rogan had to endure was brutal, absolutely gut wrenching. Though there were pieces of kindness and cuteness scattered throughout. Overcoming their pasts and moving forward was always going to be tricky but the payoff was so sweet, so perfect. William and Reese, once again, did a stellar job with narration.

His Forever Girl

Rogan is so infuriating through a lot of this story. Harper is heartbroken after he pushes her away once the after affects of his accident consume him. Seven years pass of feeling lost, angry, & an empty shell until they meet again where it all began.

Entertaining but.....

I enjoyed the characters and the sense of family and belonging, although a bit cheeky at times. I did not like the different voices for Rogan and Harper used throughout. When the story was told by Harper her voice was feminine and nice and Rogan’s voice nice. When being told by Rogan his voice was a much deeper and manly voice, which I liked but he sounded much older than his character age and, Harper’s voice sounded like a man trying to speak in a woman’s voice and also sounded much older than her character. I found it very irritating. Otherwise I enjoyed the book.

Slow

Spoilers! This slow burn was just slow. There was a lot of boring day to day descriptions. I felt like several pivotal events were glossed over, such as Rogan’s accident, recovery and rehab and Harper’s bad relationship. Since these events affected both in huge ways, I think more time could have been spent explaining especially with all the flashbacks. The narration was really good.

Good but long winded at times

The story was interesting and the narrators were really good. The problem for me is that the story didn't need 11 1/2 hours to tell week. I felt that it dragged at times and was long winded. I occasionally got bored and so many moments weren't valuable for the story.

Starts slow but then

So this is a nice story it starts slow. Im almost put off by how angry Rogan seems. The more I listened it got more engaging. The female narrator sounds even better than the first book. Rogans voice is off-putting but you’ll get use to it. You will cry and tense up Shumpert
