About this listen

Book Four of The Sword of Truth, the series first begun in Wizard's First Rule, returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure, Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for 3,000 years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

love the story and the narrators ability to have separate voices made it easy to distinguish which character was speaking. only criticisms were the pronunciation of Kahlan sounded like "colin" and Richards voice was too confident and almost arrogant rather than a humble person which is how I have always read him as

very good

great story but

I read this series when they were first released, or shortly thereafter, and I'm happy to say that the vivid portrayal of this fantasy land and people is as entertaining now as it ever was.

My only negative criticism, is that this new narrator Dick Hill is missing something which I can't put my finger on exactly. When I listen to his narration, his voices and intonation seem to be patronizing and reduce the concepts of life and death, love and hate, and all the actions thus invoked to a child's story. Perhaps he is not truly capable of immersing himself in the fantasy and so reads from a purely intellectual standpoint? I hope that future books in this series revert to the original narrator from the first two books, who was excellent, or move on to another who is a little more open minded.

As good as I remembered the story to be

Dick hill is my favourite narrator by far when it comes to Richard's story. everything to the accents and the way characters are portrayed is outstanding. my only problem is with the names. Not just character names but the names of places aswell. it bothered me to know end and it was a thorn in the side throughout the entire book, legitimately the last chapter even has name mistakes. kay len not freakin karrrrrrlen how was this even allowed to happen. inform your narrators on the 3 previous books pronounciations before letting sonething like this slip through.

if you can get past the miss pronounciations and trust me it takes some patience. ay dee...... (this was the worst hands down). than i can promise you will enjoy dick hills take on the sword of truth

sensational story telling

It is a marvelous story. The performance is good, but could have been improved some what by listening the previous books and attempting to remain a bit more consistent with tones and pronunciation. Still, really good listen, loved it.

Another great listen by Goodkind

Excellent narrating

This is the best narrator out of the whole series to date. The only down fall is in he can not pronounce kahlan' s name it drives you mad for the first few chapters but you do get used to it.

brilliant

Apart from his pronunciation of "Kahlan" this was a fantastic narration indeed. Well worth the listen!

Exceptional Narration

Love the story, however I didn’t like the narrator. Keeps mispronouncing Kahlan as Colin. Monotone is almost the same. As I mentioned love the story. Not the narrator
