Very average story
I always find Matthew Reilly a bit hit and miss, and this particular book really typifies the aspects of his writing that I find most difficult - the unnecessary and repetitive naming of every type of machine gun, the retiring protagonist who is suddenly superhuman, and the awarding of a two dimensional female character to said protagonist, as some kind of passive reward for completing the hero's journey. I found myself longing for this book to end about halfway through. I didn't care if the main character lived or died, and he irked me more and more with every page.
Having said that, I really enjoyed Sean Mangan's reading for the most part, and the story was okay - maybe it'll be more relevant to your interests and you'll love it! Personally if I was going to recommend someone a book by Matthew Reilly, it wouldn't be this one.

I have been lucky enough to have read all of Matthews books thus far, but still find Temple the most enjoyable.

Indiana Jones action story
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I recommend this to anyone who loves a fast-paced Indiana Jones type adventure.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Temple?
William Race wrestling with the caimans (crocodiles). The rapas (big cats) are pretty cool as well.
Have you listened to any of Sean Mangan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Sean Mangan is an excellent narrator and has done brilliant job with the Matthew Reilly books I have listened to so far.
