About this listen
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Paul Auster doesn't. Paul doesn't believe in much at all. He's thirty, slightly overweight, and his best features are his acerbic wit and the color commentary he provides as life passes him by. His closest friends are a two-legged dog named Wheels and a quasibipolar drag queen named Helena Handbasket. He works a dead-end job in a soul-sucking cubicle, and if his grandmother's homophobic parrot insults him one more time, Paul is going to wring its stupid neck.
Enter Vince Taylor.
Vince is everything Paul isn't: Sexy, confident, and dumber than the proverbial box of rocks. And for some reason, Vince pursues Paul relentlessly. Vince must be messing with him, because there is no way Vince could want someone like Paul.
But when Paul hits Vince with his car - in a completely unintentional if-he-died-it'd-only-be-manslaughter kind of way - he's forced to see Vince in a whole new light. The only thing stopping Paul from believing in Vince is himself - and that is one obstacle Paul can't quite seem to overcome. But when tragedy strikes Vince's family, Paul must put aside any notions he has about himself and stand next to the man who thinks he's perfect the way he is.
©2013 TJ Klune (P)2014 Dreamspinner PressI adored Paul's slightly crazy parents and Nanna - they are all so sweet and supportive and just a little bit crazy at times. Paul's bestie Sandy counts as family as well, they have the best relationship and are so supportive of each other. Vince was the sweetest character, he's so genuine and forthcoming with what he feels and what he wants. And what he wants most is Paul - he just needs to convince him It's Real :)
I really like the narrator Michael Lesley as well, so it was a given I was going to enjoy his performance.
Highly entertaining characters

Would you consider the audio edition of Tell Me It's Real to be better than the print version?
I really don't think I would have enjoyed this as much if I hadn't been listening.Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved all the periferal characters like wheels, grandma, dad, hellaina etcWhat about Michael Lesley’s performance did you like?
The change in pace that he gave each character. The main characters verbal diarrhea versus the slower methodical pace of his boyfriend was one example. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were too many to count. I loved the interplay between family members. The contrast between the two families was particularly touchingAny additional comments?
The last chapter nearly killed me. It was mean and I nearly cried on the way to work. Luckily it was a happily ever after or I would have given it no stars and been severely depressed.soooo good

I will never provide spoilers or even talk about the plot, other that to say that this is a great read and is a little like nothing you have read before. Maybe. T.J.'s wit is endless and the hyperbolic world that he has created for Paul and his friends and family is strangely real. Highly recommended!!
Better the second time around
