Riveting page turner!

I enjoyed the book until the very end, I felt the conclusion was too unbelievable. Well performed though.

Very Predictable!!!

Have read better psychological thriller than this one. Just the fact that she had PPD indicated there was something wrong with her. Plot could have been handled better. All in all very predictable.

Way better than expected!

This was very impressive. A step above most suspense/thrillers I listen to on audible. The narration was spectacular as well. Highly recommended.

Disappointed

I'm sorry that I didn't like this book. I'd seen rave reviews so I ordered it. The little things that bugged me was "Megan's" use of "Post Natal Depression" over and over, even after being corrected by her doctor, in the book. The author clearly knows the correct term, as he had the doctor correct "Megan" when she used it in the doctor's office, yet, the author continued to have Megan use the wrong term going forward. Not sure why. And, they completely ignore Chris's physical abuse of Megan, when there were clear opportunities to talk with her doctor and the police about that, but it was never mentioned again. There were many more "little" things that made it hard to like this book. The big thing that bugged me? The plot twist. So unbelievable. I often wonder if I'd like these books better if I read them vs listening to them on Audible, as my inner narration is often different from the Audible narrator. This is just one reader's opinion, so I won't give any more spoilers, but I do not recommend this book.

Overrated

Note sure if I’ve read too many of these types of books but I didn’t find it particularly original or gripping. I guess the ending half way through, thought “no that would be too weird/obvious” but alas...

Wonderful performance

I want to congratulate Tamsin Kennard, Andrew Kingston and Alan Medcroft for their superb voice performances. They made an unlikely and dubious story worth listening to.

Could have given us more. Brutal description

Really unsettling descriptions of children being murdered which I really struggled with. Very vivid and upsetting. Narrator was good and character description was well done.
Kind of guessed quite early on what was going on but was looking forward to how it all was going to unfold but it was disappointingly lacking. Could have been a longer book with much more involved. I view this book almost as a short story and as it is I enjoyed it.

OMG this book was rotten

In the last two years I have listened to some fantastic books on audible HOWEVER this book was not one of them it was utter shi*e . The narrators did really well considering the material they had to work with. I searched for a psychological thriller and this books popped up so thought I would give it ago. I finished it but honestly it was like a really really bad episode of Scooby Doo . The alleged twist could not have been more transparent if the author tried it was utter pish . Do yourself a favour give this book a wide steer.

Enjoyable but a little predictable

I enjoyed this book and thought he voice acting was brilliant however I did feel that the twists in the story itself were a little predictable as I’d predicted both twists early on in the story. This may not have been as predictable if I had read the book rather than listened. I will definitely be reading a few more Adam Croft books.

Struggled with this. Weak and predictable story. Sorry to say it didn't deliver on suspense. I found myself thinking "please just get on with it"
