Die Erdbeben in der Kluft werden so heftig, dass das Ikaris-Projekt und die Rakke Basis in den Riss stürzen lassen könnte. Weil Tom und seine Freunde um ihre Drachen besorgt sind, machen sie sich auf den Weg in die Kluft und schicken sie in ein Versteck. Sie finden heraus, dass ein weiterer Drache, Erdspalter, für die Beben verantwortlich ist und geraten dabei in Gefahr.
