Publisher's Summary

I might be a country girl from the same small town of Sweetwater, Texas, as horse wrangler Roarke Frost, the girl next door who knows him like few know him, but I didn't know enough to save my heart.

He's the reason why I left Sweetwater behind.

But now, fate proves she loves a wicked twist and sends me back to Sweetwater to pull together a Christmas festival - and I run smack into the man again, quite literally. His body is pressed to mine, his hands on my arms, and I'm melting like chocolate in the sizzling Texas sunshine. And I run.

I know it’s not exactly respectable, but it works, just not for long. No matter how much I try to get tangled up in Christmas, I end up tangled up in Roarke instead - and the man has me feeling the heat of our attraction and the warmth of our past friendship. He feels like Mr. Right, but history says he’s Mr. Wrong.

But if he wants a second chance, Roarke Frost is going to have to work for it. He’ll need to prove to me that this holiday is a season of new beginnings, the kind that last forever.

If you can make it to the 2nd half, all is good!

Overall opinion: 3.5 The first 40% of the book is a highly repetitive, in her head experience and 4 year old temper tantrums. I would have estimated the h's mental age at 13 based on how she acted in the first half of the book. I am glad that I finished although the 13 year old resurfaced towards the very end of the book. First 40% and 5 of the last 8% = 1.5 stars. 41% - 92% a d last 3% = 4.5 stars Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary. Female is whiny

It was ok just not her best. Female narrator made Hannah whiny all the time line she wasn’t a grown woman. Story was ok just not her best. I had a hard time getting thru this book . Will return because I won’t listen to again.

Her voice

I had a really hard time getting into the story because I was cringing everytime she spoke. I got used to it after a few days but goodness I'm from Texas and while it is in fact spelled Whataburger, we pronounce it water burger lol. Fun fact the owner was neighbor for nearly ten years before the headquarters relocated. I really enjoyed the story line and I'm hoping to hear more!

Oh. Brother.

I could barely make it through. Repetitive. Female is WHINY!!!! Let's face it, if someone can't move on with their personal life after 6 years, they need some serious help. Get over it for gosh sakes!!!! I wish romance writers would give their main characters more brains and strength and us listeners more credit for not being stupid! Ugh. How frustrating. I skipped a lot of the story just to get to the end. And hello- where was Joe Arden in the whole story?!?! Barely had any parts at all. So not right. The first story wasn't all that great either. Poor Sebastian York hardly had any parts either.

Could not finish!

I so wanted this one to be better than the first book. It just couldn’t keep me paying attention. I love cowboys but this story was not anything that I’d love.

Meh

Hannah and her insecurities, coupled with her stubbornness, made it hard to finish this book.

DEFINITELY NOT FOR ME!!!

This listen was bad for me. I bought it for Lisa Renee Jones and Joe Arden. The story was passable; hearing Joe was frustrating! Unfortunately, there are not many authors who can write a male point of view and delivery (Lauren Blakely being a wonderful exception). I guess I understand romance writers generally "aim" toward women, with aim being the operable word, so a very good woman narrator is a must. So many audio authors simply seem to throw in a popular male narrator and give them little to do, as was the case for this title. A very few honest authors will warn with phrases like "featuring ???" or "epilogue by ???" This was a long listen and many skipped chapters did nothing to add enjoyment! I can't recommend this!!!!!

There’s no place like home

This second chance love story is so sweet! The small town Texas setting and the fast approaching holidays just add to the magic as these two work to find their HEA.

Christmas Miracles!

I loved this sequel as much as the first one! Family coming together was absolutely beautiful and heartwarming, and Hannah getting pregnant and having a baby was just perfect...Love Joe Ardens voice...Lisa Renee, a beautiful ending to both stories coming together...#1 fan ❤❤❤

Read at your own risk

Struggled to finish this book. Hannah was so irritating there were several times i wanted to slap her. The female narrator was horrific. Joe Arden was the only saving grace for this book.
