Publisher's Summary

Buckle up for a wild ride as Dixie Whiskey finds forever love in TAMING MY WHISKEY, a funny, sexy, and emotionally riveting standalone romance by New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster. The perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!

In TAMING MY WHISKEY....
Being the princess of the Dark Knights motorcycle club doesn’t come with a white knight or a fairy-tale castle, and that’s okay, because Dixie Whiskey has never needed a man to slay her dragons or make her whole. Even so, after watching each of her brothers fall in love, she’d sure like a shot at her own happily ever after. But with the Dark Knights watching over her and the only man she’s ever wanted out of reach, she’s not holding her breath.

As the launch of Silver-Stone Cycles’ biggest line approaches, Jace Stone is left needing a favor from the one woman who holds the power to take him to his knees. He knows when it comes to sinfully gorgeous and sharp-tongued Dixie Whiskey, he must stay on his toes and keep his walls firmly in place. But Jace needs her for his business - and Jace Stone always gets what he wants.

When the tall, gruff, and darkly handsome biker presents an opportunity that any other woman might see as the chance of a lifetime, Dixie turns him down flat. But Jace is determined, and he pulls out all the stops - sending Dixie’s overprotective brothers up in arms. Rebellious Dixie takes a stand - going after the freedom, and the man, she’s always wanted. One scorching kiss leads to an undeniable connection, but Jace isn't looking to be tied down, and Dixie refuses to play second fiddle. Can two untamable hearts find forever love in each other’s arms?

skipped a lot of it

dragged myself through most of it and would have given up if hadn't paid. Maybe sign of maturity, but I found a lot of this silly and irritating. brothers behaved like teenagers, leads often annoying and followed trite/old school storyline that I am hoping readers are growing out of. even found the love scenes on boring side when technically should be hot, but think was also due to the narrators. not my cup of tea.

oh, HOLY SH*T....

I have been waiting on this book for months (maybe even longer, maybe since the moment I met Dixie Whiskey), and I was just not ready for this. This book is EVERYTHING ;) Dixie is still her tough, no-nonsense self, and Jace is just the man to go toe-to-toe with her. The two of them have chemistry that is off the charts, and sparks fly at every corner. This book is just scorching! The narrators bring this chemistry to life so well, and it makes you just want to melt! But like everything with the Whiskeys, it's about family and love and taking care of those around you, and this book is no exception. This book is full of the things you have come to expect from this family, plus a whole lot more. Melissa Foster really outdid herself when it came to this book. There are some stories you just want to curl up in and never leave and this is one of them. Five stars is not enough....

Great MC Romance

Love how strong of a woman Dixie is! Steamy without overwhelming us with many s e x scenes and the chemistry built between Dixie and Jace was great. We see where the story is going to go most of the time, but I appreciated this well written MC romance. Excellent narration takes this story to the next level.

4.5 Whiskey Fever Stars!

I loved this 6th book in the Dark Knights at Peaceful Harbor series! I have been so intrigued by Dixie Whiskey as I got to know her throughout the series. She is the princess of the Whiskey clan and despite her overprotective brothers, she is strong, feisty, and has a heart of gold. She has had a crush on her brother's friend, Jace Stone, since she was eighteen, but he knew she was too good for him. Jace is a sexy, tatted biker, but also a successful businessman and philanthropist. He is looking for the face of his new woman's line of bikes and apparel and Dixie is his only choice. She turns his offer down, but when Dixie's brothers refuse to let her model for him, her fiery, rebellious nature comes out and she takes the job. Now they are working close and their attraction and chemistry is explosive! Jace has a hard time trusting and settling down, but he can't imagine letting Dixie go when she want's more, and he catches Whiskey Fever! This romance is years in the making and I loved seeing how they thought of each other over the years. They are so perfect for each other and Jace is so swoony as he stands up to her overprotective brothers! This fun, and captivating romance was made even better by Devra Woodward, and Aiden Snow's flawless narration. They expertly brought Dixie, Jace, and all their family and friends to life, making them feel so real and honest. I was so lost to their story telling, as they immersing me in this world and made me laugh, fret, and sigh from beginning to end. This fun, emotional, sexy and passionate romance took my breath away and captured my heart.

Dixie Whiskey is in for a ride

In this book we get Dixie Whiskey and Jace Stone's story. See Dixie had wanted Jace since she was 18. Now she knows what it'll take to get her man as well as get her brothers off her back. Jace has been a love'em & leave'me kinda guy. But even he knows that's a no go with Dixie. Can these two find a HEA the never thought would happen or will they just be a flash in the pan. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone

A hot coming together of two souls!

I listened to the audio version of this book. Dixie finally finds love! She had to really rebel against her overprotective brothers to do it, but she certainly came into her own in this book. She's had a thing for Jace for awhile, but nothing ever came of it. But now Jace wants her to model for a calendar for his line of motorcycles and has to really work at getting her to agree. He'd really like to her to agree to much more, hopefully in his bed. It is a hot coming together of two people who should have stopped fighting it a long time ago. The relationship is good...even though it's only temporary. I love this series my Melissa Foster. It is edgier than a lot of what she writes and I just find it more appealing. I'm hoping for much more along the line of the Dark Knights! The audio was fantastic with great narrations by Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow. I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book. All thoughts are my own.

Dixie & Jace!

There is nothing better than being pulled into the Dark Knights family. Dixie has 3 brothers, and has grown up in the fold of the Dark Knights. She always has had a crush on Jace Stone, but when he asks her to be the calendar model for his release of female motorcycle apparel, she is hesitant, not only to model, but with her heart. Jace is taken with Dixie, but does not do relationships. How will they work together? Melissa Foster has done it again, wrapping me up in warmth and happiness as I listened to this incredible story. I love all the Whiskey men, but Dixie outshines them all. She us beautiful and smart but it’s her grit that I love. Spunky yet vulnerable, she had such real emotions and reacts just like I would. Jace has that something about him. He’s very charismatic, and is easy to fall for. The two are made for each other and I loved taking their journey. With the protectiveness of Dixie’s brothers, and the charm of Jace’s sister we get immersed in family love. Narrated by Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow, their voices let us line in their moments. Woodward is incredible with her intuitiveness in Dixie’s mind and brings it out in her performance. Snow is perfect with his growlie sound, giving Jace that edginess. loved the team and can’t wait to see what is coming next!

Dixie Whiskey amazingly strong determined . . .

Narration by a duo was most certainly the way to go her. The complement and contrast was wonderful to carry the story forward. I loved Dixie and she came across as a very strong character by both narrators. I loved Dixie. I too loved sexy Jace. It just something about the name Jace that makes me just swoon. This Jace. For this read was all that and then some. Dixie Whiskey gets her man. Strong, sexy, alpha. Sweet, sassy, sexy (herself) Dixie finds her forever in one Jace Stone. Dixie Whiskey gets her man. Strong, sexy, alpha. Sweet, sassy, sexy (herself) Dixie finds her forever in one Jace Stone. A decade in the making. Dixie finally had a chance with the man of her heart. She finds that this romance not as easy as it seems to look for others. It takes some hard work, some tears, some heartache, and maybe even a punch or two. With protective brothers and a brotherhood behind her she finds that getting the man of her heart will not be so easy. I found this Whiskey romance to be real emotional and just a bit different from the others. Dixie showed a more feminine side and that just really rubbed her raw. She showed that she was more than just bark. She had a bite that a few people experienced. There was so much more to Dixie Whiskey. Jace was most certainly her match. It just took him a little bit longer to figure that all out for himself.

Long Distance Romance

Dixie Whiskey is 30 years old and lonely. She’s happy surrounded by her family and friends, working in her family’s bar and auto shop and being the most doting auntie on the planet, but she’s the last of her siblings to find their love match. Dixie has had a crush on Jace Stone since she was 18, what she doesn’t know that when he first met her, as a man of 27, she wriggled under his skin, but knew he had to stay away. When an opportunity comes up for his business he knows he wants Dixie involved and is prepared to do anything to get his way, even if Dixie is reluctant. Let the wooing commence! I’m very fond of this group of characters that I’ve read about over several books. The family is big, boisterous and kind. Dixie is over protected and despite her frustration with this she knows it comes from love. I don’t think I would have put up with it as long as she did though! Jace is the quintessential alpha male. He’s big, strong and handsome, works hard and loves his family. He has resisted settling down because he loves his job and to travel too much to give it up. He can be a bit of an idiot when it comes to relationships because he hasn’t had any. This was a sweet romance and barring a few miscommunications there was no real drama, except of their own making. This makes it a nice easy read and gives a great mushy happy ever after. With regards to the narration I found the voices for Jace and Dixie’s points of view to be really convincing. They were natural and good at conveying emotion without being too over the top. They both allowed the characters to speak through them without forcing it. I’d definitely keep an eye out for other books both Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow have worked on.

Phenomenal!

I think this is the best in this series so far. It is hot, sensual, passionate, emotional and I just couldn't put it own! It was time for Dixie's story to be told and it was just phenomenal! She is amazingly headstrong and met her match in Jace who is just as sexy and brilliant and as much of a workaholic as she is. What a pair! Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow are the narrators and they did their job very well. I have just listened to the audiobook version and my voluntary and unbiased review is recorded above.

A Precious Stone

Dixie has had a crush on Jace for years and she finally gets the opportunity to spend time with him when she is chosen to be the face of Leather & Lace for his company. Dixie keeps flirting until he gives in. He lets her know upfront that he doesn’t want a relationship and she tells him she is ok with that when she knows deep down that isn’t true. Jace was hurt by a woman in the past and that’s the reason he doesn’t get close to anyone. He cares about Dixie but just can’t forget what he went through. I love strong female characters and Dixie is definitely one. She cared about Jace but remained true to herself. Jace was a little. rough around the edges but had a good heart. I liked that he shared his story with Dixie so she would know why he was the way he was. I really like the friends to lovers trope and this one is very well written and I loved the family dynamic. This book is part of a series and can be read as a standalone. I loved the narration for this book. Aiden Snow and Devra Woodward had the perfect voices for Jace and Dixie.

Loved this story and the narration so much!

Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow narrate this story beautifully. I enjoyed both of the ways they brought the characters to life. I love Dixie, she is soooooooo feisty and just, I wanna be her when I grow up! I loved this story and the whole set up behind it particularly the way that Dixie and Jace danced around each other so much. I would happily spend a lot more time in this world as I feel their story is probably not over...

Beautiful

Stone is attempting to find the perfect woman to be the face of his company. He doesn't want just any model. He wants an authentic biker chick. He has a specific woman in mind, but doesn't think she'll take on the project. When the one who does accept, breaks her leg, he discovers that his original lady has done a similar job in the past. He decides to try to talk her into it. I really enjoyed this story. Had I known that it was a book 6, I'd of tracked down and bought the first 5 before listening to it. I was already too deep into the book before I discovered it, though. It's probably for the best. My book allowance is non existent these days. Considering how this story played out, it seems like the series is a stand alone series that can be read out of order. It's just that I'm the type that reads series in order regardless of if they are stand alone or not. The characters were pretty amazing. It focuses the attention on Stone and Whiskey. For obvious reasons as they are the main part and point of the story. I just kind of wish that some of the background characters had a bit more of a highlighting role in the story. Sometimes I got a little confused with who was who and where they belonged. Not too often though. Thank goodness. I really enjoyed the narrators. I am not sure if I've ever listened to anything from Devra Woodward before. I am willing to listen to other audiobooks by her though. I have listened to Aiden Snow before. He's a very delightful listen. I plan to listen to more of his in the future. He's got this really soothing voice. I really enjoyed this story despite not being able to read the first 5 books that were before it. It was hilarious and glorious. I wound up giving it a 4 out of 5 star rating. I'd of given it full 5 stars, but I felt like some of the major points of the story were overlooked and rushed over. It didn't ruin the story, but it did leave some questions unanswered.

Young love never died

I liked this story and I loved the big family and all the secondary characters, my only regret is never reading the other books in this series so I had more background info before reading. When that’s said, it can easily be read as a standalone. Dixie and Jace’s story is a sweet one about young love that never leaves your heart. I loved the dynamic between them and the chemistry was hot and clear from the beginning. Characters descriptions is very good, I feel like I know them after a while. No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and good dialogues Steamy hot love scenes that’s not “to much” Narrators: Clear pronunciation and read with feelings. Very enjoyable listening to. 5 stars overall. AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Great story, with excellent narration.

I have read and listened to Melissa Foster's work in the past but this is the first book that I have picked up with the Whiskey family and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I really want to add every other book to my basket and get listening. Dixie and Jace (I love that name!) are a wonderful, full of zing, steam up the kindle couple whose story had me captivated. Both Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow's narration was sublimely good. With clear characterisation and mood expression, they were a complete treat for the ears.

Taming my Whiskey

I have been dying for Dixie to get her love story & what a story Melissa has given her. Dixie is a fierce, confident woman who can stand up for herself, but she also has a softer side, and at times vulnerable side and I loved how we got to see that side of her in this story. I wasn’t sure who Melissa had in store for Dixie, but I knew it had to be someone man enough to take her on as well as prove to her brothers he was the real deal. Enter Jace Stone, rugged, tough and definitely man enough for Dixie. ⠀ ⠀ Jace designs motorbikes, and has a new line coming out along with a clothing line for woman and after being let down by a model he turns his sights on Dixie, who if he had realised had modelled in the past would have made her his first choice. Dixie puts him off for a long as she can but eventually decided to do it, following her brother ganging up on her at the charity auction.⠀ ⠀ From here we really see Jace and Dixie come together in more ways than one, their story is hot and their chemistry is on fire. But Jace is not perfect and his back an forth approach to his feeling gave me whiplash and left Dixie feeling broken-hearted, and my heart broke right along with her, but he fixes the wrongs and shows that no one is perfect but they can be perfect together.⠀ ⠀ The Narration:⠀ Devra Woodward and Aiden Snow were just perfect at voicing Dixie and Jace. You know how you get an idea of how someone would sound like when reading a book? Well these two nailed the characters perfectly! The audio was crisp and clear and flowed seamlessly between the two voice actors.⠀
