Publisher's Summary

Never again...

Christofer lives by those words while Cloe would rather die by them....

Too many years living on the run, of always being seen as nothing more than a monster and a freak, has left Christofer cold and distant. He hates his life, his fate, but he's made promises, and nothing on earth will stop him from keeping them...except for the woman who invades his world, takes him by surprise, aggravates him, gives him hope, and makes him wish that things could be different, but they can't. Not unless he's willing to risk everything.

Cloe doesn't need anyone, doesn't want any complications, but things quickly change when she accepts a job that destroys her world and brings her the one thing that she never thought she'd find again...peace.

New and improved narrator, 5 ionic stars! ★★★★★

I'm really glad for the narrator change! Celestine Wolf made this book such a pleasure to listen to. I'm surprised she only has three recordings under her belt, considering her impressive repertoire of voices. As for the story, this is by far my favourite. I like how the world is expanding and we're no longer at the compound. Our honourable hero has such a tragic back-story. I feel so bad for Christopher and all the mistreatment he's endured in his long life. I came to love his love for Marta. I only wish he could have saved her sooner. Christopher is truly unique. Imagine being the only one of your kind (as far as you know) and how incredibly lonely that can be. He draws as an escape to all of the BS around him. His younger sister Marta is his whole world, and she wants him to finally live his life for him. This is where Chloe comes into the picture. I felt like a fly on the wall, learning about their connection: they saved each other from the ghosts of their horrific pasts. The Williams "Brady Bunch" make an appearance mid-way as a tie-in to the Pyte/Sentinel world. Mark finally gets more attention, it's baby-central at the mansion, Danni and Caine are on board, and Kale Quinn is still a heartless bastard of a mutt. But don't worry! He redeems himself at the end as Chloe's secret, alpha-guardian. I also love that Christopher is the most lethal being of them all. With so many new members of the blended family, they need all the protection they can get. Overall, I like where this series is going, though I wish the females played a bigger role than just hormonal walking wombs. Warning: you may develop a sudden craving for chocolate after all of that silly junkfood-banter!

Yummy

This series was recommended to me by Amazon and I am happy because they have been truly enjoyable. I laughed and cried for Cleo and Christofer. Hopefully there will be one with KALE QUINN because he to is the ultra predator. C Wolfe did a fabulous job narrating this book.

Did not disappoint

I keep writing the same thing, but with each book in the series the story lines get better and better. This one had me feeling empathy for Chistoffer. He was tortured as a kid and he had in his mind that his only important mission was to protect his sister and then it was Chloe. His story development was great. Once again R.L. Mathewson also brings great humor along with characterization and story line.

Overbearing Men

The first book started out interesting. Pretty good plot. A twist on just vampires and werefolk in the world. Men quite controlling and the second book was the absolute worst. I persevered and now I quit. As an example one pyte’s mate wants a coke while pregnant. Let her have the dang coke! He wants to control everything. The book continually has men taking away women’s choices. If one of these books had a woman putting a man in his place, I would keep listening. I’m not a feminist i promise. I’m just an independent woman capable of handling my own choices.

My least favorite out of the series.

I found Chloe to be annoying. It got to be really boring and frustrating with all her resistances with what she has become. It was too drawn out and it made me jump so many chapters forward to just get to the point were she accepts what she had become and even then she just can’t be open minded to accept anything. Such a snappy attitude to everyone and everything, it make’s her such unlikable character. I do still love that the William’s clan is integrated into the story line. Love that family dynamic.

The best book in the series so far.

This is such an interesting addition to the series. Both main characters are so strong with a backstory that is worthy of two books. The characters grow together in such a way that comes from such pain, trama and loneliness that blooms into a real touching love story.

hmm

I definitely liked the tie in to this story line. Chole and christofer are so sweet together. I just can't decide whether I like kale or not. every time I think I do he does something else to make me mad or more confused.

Loving this series.

Love the way the each book stand on its own, but still make the reader want to read the next book to see happens next. The plots are not predictable, and satisfying.
