Publisher's Summary

Catie Bay has worshiped much older Chad McCray since she was a child. When she fumbles a seduction attempt after her graduation from high school, she flees to Europe, hoping she can forget her unrequited love.

Four years later, Catie returns, now a beautiful, worldly woman, and Chad, the quintessential bachelor, takes notice. He's still not looking for love, but he wouldn't turn down a romp in the sack with sexy Catie. She's no longer the lovesick girl next door, though, and sometimes a man doesn't know what he wants until it's too late.

Emotional

Loved book 3 of Helen Harry's books. There are more to go yet and can't wait to listen to them all. The Narrator Kendall Taylor is amazing at reading these book's. Makes you feel like you are right there watching. Beautiful Love Story each of them.
They all have their own little twist. Love them.

Kind of Rapey

I feel very mixed about this book. I loved the first book in the series as well as the third. I had an issue with Caties sexual encounters with Chad. Most of them he basically raped her. I’m not sure if that’s what the author was trying to show or if it’s just my own personal experiences coming into play.

I did very much enjoy the overall story and how the author incorporated the characters from the first book.

The H is horrible!

I don't know how this story has so many 4 and 5 star reviews as the H is a piece of garbage!

This review contains spoilers! If you don't want to know what happens or why I hate the H, stop here.

Too late. My review starts below.

Helen,

This was undoubtedly the worst H ever written and most likely would have a dozen or more restraining orders against him. Why you may ask?

1. He ignores the word No!
2. He has the mentality of a 14 year old
3. He is a complete jerk to the h and to other women
4. He is petty and petulant throughout
5. He is borderline psychotic and dangerously over-possessive
6. He is pre-1940s in his views about women!

I cringed during the scenes that were supposed to be steamy and ended up skipping forward, especially when they were talking. Men don't talk the way this H was written and it just came across corny. Guys don't focus on the color of nipples. If the are a variation of brown, to a guy, that is brown.

I nearly broke my phone when she told him about the pregnancy and he reacted like an abusive asshole. He continues to blame her for a broken condom and whines about how bad life is for him now for several chapters. He continues to be threatening to the h when any guy gets near her, then basically sexually assaults her against a wall which was disgusting. "You like it when I touch you there, don't you? This is a question he asks her while angry (angrier than when she told her that she was pregnant according to her just a couple of minutes earlier). How does that make you feel? Good Chad? Who do you belong too, Katie? You, Chad! Again, it comes across as a scare woman of an abusive spouse!

The h was decent but let her crush behavior turn her into a doormat. The attempt to redeem the H failed and I continued to feel bad for the h throughout the story. There is no way that the h lives happily ever after as her psycho-abusive husband will end up murdering her for something trivial.

I am going to read one more book from this author but if it follows the path that Teasing Annie and this book, I will not read anything else by her.

Go straight to taming Angelina and skip this.

Spoilers below!! I started Taming Angelina first not realizing this was a series. I loved that story so much I went back to hear this one. They seeming like a loving couple in Taming Angelina I expected a great story. Truth be told it started out great but really went south in the middle. *spoilers* my issue with this is the way he acts when she says no, his reaction to the pregnancy, the marriage, the way he treats her at the beginning of the marriage. Honestly, if this were a sister or a friend getting treated this way, I would advise them to tell him to kick rocks. He is selfish, arrogant and just a plain old prick.

loved the others but....

The others were great but this one was a miss for me. Chad is a total d*wad and catie is a simpering dummy for letting him treat her the way he does.

Overall though, the story is really well written and the narration is great (tho the narrator can't do a french accent to save her life).
Deff worth a listen if you have plus and again, the first 2 were great, I'll still be going on to the next one.

Hate this heroine

If you like dumb virgins in love with old man whores then select this book. If you like women with a backbone and self respect then choose something else.

Story sounds as if written by a 15 year old

The story is about a girl who, since the age of four, lusts after a man who has “slept with every girl in town except the main character’s sister.” He is eleven years older and somehow this is supposed to be a love story??!! Creepy story that is very poorly written.

Unrequited love

This was one of the better books in the series to me. A life long crush, Catie escapes to get away from Chad and her unrequited love. He is pretty harsh with her, but that’s a hard age difference. He does redeem himself in the end.

The narrator is average. I’ve listened through three books, so it’s not too difficult to listen and enjoy.

Piggy Chad McCray kinda falls for LittleBit

This is the worst of a pretty awful series. No wonder it is free and included with Audible membership. The “hero” has become increasingly obnoxious with each book as the spoiled youngest son. He considers himself a ladies man but is emotionally and somewhat physically abusive, harassing, and rude. While it could be forgiven that he remembers Caitie as a pretty little girl and is confused by his lust, his lack of charm with every female is disgusting. The heroine is the very young neighbor Caitie, who is willing to take any belittling and verbal abusive and insult from Chad even as he professes his love. She has no pride and self esteem where he is concerned and is reactive, not proactive with him. How anyone would want to be married to that is beyond me so the plot doesn’t make much sense, The narration is as awful in this as it was in the earlier books. No differentiation in tone and little emotion. Not worth the time to listen so stopped halfway.

Helen Hardt does it again!😊

I'm loving this series of audio books, I like how they are intertwined with each other. Reason for 4stars is that I've preferred the Steel Brothers story more. Still, it's a great book and I enjoy listening to them all!😊😀
