Publisher's Summary

Hail to the king, and watch him reign, this game was somewhat fun, until the finale came....

Now we’re here, with carnage and despair, and the only questions left to answer, are the ones that do not appear....

A king loses a war, and a swan sheds her wings, chaos collides with peace, as the crows begin to sing....

Enter if you dare, because I swear the end is near, but nothing is as it seems, and everything is so bare.

So what the hell is going on at Riverside - I think, I think...everyone is about to die....

it was ok until the end

this book series was a total let down. it had the potential to be amazing! the characters were all over the place and I had a hard time telling who was talking. at the end of book three was the worst. the supposed big fight was like it happens and then a couple pages later it was over and never talked about again. there was a gun shot to a stomach with one of the main characters and a bullet to the throat in a nother, but somehow they both survive and the next day were up and normal!?!? WTF 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was really hoping this would have been better, I was going to quit halfway through but decided to stick it out and finish the book. should have just moved on.

Let's Talk...

Spoilers Ahead!!!

I have a few bones to pick with this series so far! First off why can Madison NEVER finish a meal? Whenever she starts eating she looses her appetite, it's annoying! Second, why are their always A TON of adults, old kings and parental units floating around but none of them ever really do anything? Third, I get it her brother died. Honestly though she spent like 1 day total with him and he shot her. Her grief level is simply not feasible! Lastly, the sexy times. Although great with Madison and Bishop we only got them in flashback form mostly which was weird. Also EVERYONE is sleeping or has slept with almost everyone else so why can't Madison??? I want her to have them all!!!

Ummm So Confused

Last half of book’s plot was absolutely confusing. Not sure what happened even after relistening to several chapters. Characters tried to explain things and their explanations seem to confuse things even more. At end there were too many points of view - too hard to keep characters straight. I’m giving up on series.

confusion

The second half of the book was confusing. The story line/timeline and jump from POV makes it really hard to know what is going on. After re listening to a few chapters, I still don't think I have it right. I loved having Bishops POV in this one though

Meh...

I really enjoyed the first 2 books in the series and kept going because I was invested and wanted to figure out all the mysteries in the series. However, as it goes along it gets more convoluted and when something is revealed it feels like it's thought up on the spot. The writing itself seems incomplete, like the editor missed a few things and the story jumps around and includes useless details. Also, she overuses the word 'deadpan' which really started to get on my nerves after a while.

I just can’t get with the female narrator

I absolutely love these books and the story, but the narrator is so off for me. Her inflections of words in the strangest of places is so distracting and her male voice makes me cringe. Please please get a new female voice! Teddy is perfect, as always!!

Great ending to a twisted series

I love this series. There just seems to be some timing issues and plot holes that don’t line up for me which is why my rating is 4.5⭐️ instead of 5

Cant wait for the 4th book.

I do like this series but the way the girl is portrayed and the way the narrator says things is extremely annoying.
Ridiculously spoiled bratty slutty rude little rich girls who thinks the entire world revolves around them.
It's not attractive or sexy or likable in the least.
It would be nice if the Author tried to make them all a bit more likeable and relatable.
I'm glad the author finally did something about her awful sluttiness though. That was really frustrating to me.
And she is so extremely self absorbed. Ugh.
for all of this it was a little hard for me to want to get through these books.
And I really didn't ever catch what the purpose of the "Kings" are even for.
It's kinda dumb. But whatever.
The books are decent and intriguing.

Finally his POV

Overall I enjoyed the series so far. I wanted to give this 5 stars but I felt some things needed to be fleshed out some more. BVH is my absolute favorite King and I hope that Madison can show some growth in the rest of the series. I loved being able to get his POV! Both narrators were amazing at voicing all the different characters.

How can I even?

4.5 Stars You have no idea how many times my eyes bugged right out my head and my hand covered my mouth reading this. I had many a chapter when I was like what in the clusterf*** is happening here?! I probably hated nearly every character in this book for at least a page or two. Bishop was extra mean, Nate was off the rails, Tate was weak, Brantley was extra sullen and Tillie?! Don't even get my started on Madison Is Madison my favourite character in this series? No. Will she ever be? Probably not. She annoyed me more than ever. But what kept me hooked was not only the plot; which I cannot even begin to put into words because it won't make sense probably even if you've read this but also spoilers but the writing and the twists and the turns and the OMG moments. My heart broke at the end and I don't see how any of this is going to shake out. But trust the process, I guess...sheesh.
