Summary
School children are taught by robots - also known as T.C.H.E.R.s. These machines were seen as more efficient, and because of their programming, it was guaranteed that every student would be given the exact same education.
Complacent that their children were getting the best education possible, no one thought to check what they were actually being taught - until the students across the country suddenly revolted.
