Publisher's Summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands delivers another captivating historical romance set in the Highlands of Scotland!

Highlander Galen MacDonald is on a mission of revenge: kidnap his enemy's bride and make her his. But what he doesn't count on is a clever, fiery lass wielding a blade. When he realizes Kyla is delirious with fever, Galen wastes no time in wedding her.

While Kyla is grateful for the Scottish laird who saved her from marrying a loathsome man, she is just as furious that Galen has claimed her for his bride. But when they share an unforgettable night of passion, will it lead to a marriage of the heart, or will an enemy tear them apart?

Good story, EXCELLENT narration

I really like this narrator. Her Scottish accent is perfect (I'm pretty sure she must be from Scotland). She does very distinct voices for all the characters and enhances the story with emotion and intensity.

The story is good. There is a bit more violence that I would like but the romance is hot... And sweet and it has a few twists and turns I wasn't expecting. The ending was very nice too.

Sweet revenge

Hunky Highlander steals the prize in this tale of miscommunication and mayhem.

Elle Newland has a bizarre take on an English accent.... a weird cadence at times, but she delivers identifiable characters with style.

This is a steamy, hot, "mature themed" novel.

Yep, very creditworthy!

Fun Read-Annoying Heroine

Great narration, strong, sensual hero, but the heroine was careless too many times and I stopped identifying with her. Having to be rescued once or twice is fine, but using this to advance the plot made the heroine out to be an idiot.

Poor

I have read a number of Ms. Sands book and liked many of them. But I have found them hit and miss. However this book is simply terrible. Our hero is nearly an idiot and our heroine is just irritating. The book is at times simply stupid. Skip this one. It's going back.

loved it!!!

I am fairly new to Lynsay Sands and have been devouring her books. I love the humor and the fiercely loyal h/h.

Pretty good

The writer has a talent for creating characters. The H and H are very likable, the Scottish warriors are innocent yet dangerously fierce, the servants are loyal and lovable, and the villains are deliciously nasty. The story, however is only average and predictable. All in all it is a good book but not outstanding. The narrator is good. The story is that a Scottish Laird kidnaps and marries the intended bride of his enemy for revenge. The Laird blames the enemy for the death of his wife and child. As usual the Laird and his kidnapped bride fall in love, the enemy who is very wicked, tries to get back at the Laird and the evil sister in law wreaks havoc on all.

My favorite Lynsay Sands book yet!

I’ve read all of the available highland series and most other available Lynsay Sands books and this is the one I couldn’t put down.

Not Worth the Credit

I am usually a Lynsay Sands fan, but this was just painful. The story was so boring I kept wondering when they would just get to the point.

What a heap of rubbish

Do not waste your credit on this rubbish, it’s reads like a kids fairytale, and the narrator is worse than the story, all the characters sounds exactly the same whether male or female. I would have rated it 0 stars but unfortunately that’s not possible, very very disappointing

great book great narrator

this was yet another brilliant book by lynsey sands. She once more captured my imagination and swept me away. ... Elle Newlands narrating skills are still the best by far, I can't seem to get on with anyone else, even to the point of skipping books in s collection that dose not have her doing the telling. my eyesight is really bad at the moment due to swelling on my optic nerve and the thought of not being able to read and be taken to a new and exciting worlds was a horrid prospect, thanks to you both I don't have to worry. Thank you to you both.
