Story
They say your first kiss should be earned. Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky. They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred. Mine were broken before we left church. They say your heart only beats for one man. Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end. I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit. Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

Story
Salome knows only one way to live - under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence - the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free. Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

Story
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it's true. The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares. He is a brilliant lawyer. Célian Laurent. Manhattan royalty. Notorious playboy. Heir to a media empire...and my new boss. I could have impressed him, if not for last month's unforgettable one-night stand. I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory - namely, his wallet. Now he's staring me down like I'm the dirt under his Italian loafers, and I'm supposed to take it. But the thing about being Judith "Jude" Humphry is I have nothing to lose. Brooklyn girl. Infamously quirky. Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch.

He told me to settle. He asked what was wrong with me. He called me an easy target. That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks. I labeled him an asshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha. He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother's fraternity brother. Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

It all started with a mysterious blue note sewn into a wedding dress. Something blue. I’d gone to sell my own unworn bridal gown at a vintage clothing store. That’s when I found another bride’s “something old.” Stitched into the lining of a fabulously feathered design was the loveliest message I’d ever read: Thank you for making all of my dreams come true. The name embossed on the blue stationery: Reed Eastwood, obviously the most romantic man who ever lived. I also discovered he’s the most gorgeous. If only my true-love fantasies had stopped there.

New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. But when Molly leaves England's gray skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn - she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

Disappointing
Ughhh...
where to start...
I did listen all the way through.
Being Australian I'm used to Listening to American accents. This narrator I would guess is English, so naturally the main English character voice is good. As soon as she puts on ANY other character voice (all bar one are American) it is AWEFUL! It's insanely bad southern American accents. She was clearly focused on keeping up the accent with little concern to what was going on in the story so the emotion was missing most of the time.
Now, the story. Really random mix of orphans with abusive parents with misunderstood sports star with insta love with bitchy girl with alpha male with attempt at a bit of Dom/sub (terrible and unnecessary to the story) with ...
Sheesh! Pick a story. And stop trying to add all the other books out there into one.
Returned.

Narrator a miss on this one
The narrator's British accent sounded fine to these American ears, but oh my the southern accents were unbelievably awful. I don't understand how a book can be released with such mediocre narration. The story was ok, but overly formula sex scenes (with a touch of Shades of Gray); silly and didn't fit. The one at the very end of the book ... the one where the reader would think the story has already ended ... was over the top not needed.
Actually I tried to return this book and wasn't able to. Sorry to have a negative review as there is talent in both the writer and narrator, but it just didn't come together for me in this story.

Just Like Romeo and Juliet ... Well Sorta
I love this story and Tillie Cole is quickly climbing the list as one of my favorite authors. Rome and Molly are such interesting and compelling characters and they are surrounded by loyal and interesting friends. This has the makings of a must listen to series with a very strong beginning. Molly and Rome have such different lives yet somehow they seem to be a perfect fit. This is an enticing story of young love overcoming many obstacles and I was cheering for them all the way.
Anna does a really good job as narrator for Molly and a marginal job as narrator for the southern females but absolutely awful as narrator for the southern males, especially Rome. Fortunately, this was such a good story I could overlook this part of the narration,
Definitely worth the credit. I am really looking forward to the rest of the series.

Not sure how I feel.
Okay so I love a good sport romance and I especially love a good football romance. I did not hate this book but I also did not love it. I felt like Romeo parents was way too over the top for a modern story. I hated that portion and the drama they bought. I LOVED the supporting characters. I also thought that Romeo and Molly's love story was cute. I love when the underdog wins!

Great Book
I absolutely loved the characters. Romeo was all hard on the outside, but soft on the inside and had a heart of gold. His story was sad and made me want to wrap my arms around him and never let go.
Molly was shy and a little standoffish, but get her riled up and watch out for her claws. She was a lot strong than she thought. Her story was sad but not to the extent of Romeos.
It was fun experience the two falling madly in love with each other. Truly a good book.

Okay
If you liked Twilight, Pitch Perfect and 50 Shades of Grey and thought "Damn if someone put all of those together it would be great" then this is the story for you.
I was able to finish the whole story which I guess means it wasn't all bad, but I rolled my eyes a lot. Molly is sometimes TSTL and the voice used for Rome just made him sound whinny not sexy or dominant. Sometime I still thought it was Molly speaking the voice just became slightly more nasal for Rome with a country accent instead of British.

Brilliant
Would you listen to Sweet Home again? Why?
Absolutely. The narrator not only changed her voice to suit the characters and put on the accents and whatnot she really got the emotion of the story and it choked me up and caused my eyes to tear up in the most devastating areas.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Home?
There are so many its hard to choose just one. Off the top of my head, near the end when you first see Rome's tattoo.
Which character – as performed by Anna Parker-Naples – was your favourite?
Hard to choose, each character was performed wonderfully and their personalities really came through.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Absolutely I had an emotional reaction and more than one, it made me laugh, made me cry, made me feel a whole range of emotions from anger on the characters behalf to melting at heartfelt words.
Any additional comments?
Amazing book, amazing series and the narration added something new to it. Definitely worth the stars.
