Jack was the unexpected surprise

I liked Jack's personality in book 1 and adored his character even more in this one. He really is a good egg and a bit of a hero despite his undeserved reputation as a rake! Poor Frances has not lead a charmed life but somehow manages to thrive, successfully working through her emotional baggage to find love with Jack. Throw in a murder mystery and a charming pooch (not to be outdone by the amusingly naughty feline cleptomaniac of book 1) and all it's very satisfying outcome.

Disliked the narration

The story was a bit average, really didn’t like the narration, inconsistent with the characters
