We are becoming more and more obsessed with being thin...as we get fatter and fatter! The craziest part is that most weight loss 'solutions' are actually part of the problem. Diet and exercise programs fail 97% of people in the long-term, resulting in short term weight loss, medium term regain and long-term gain approximately 10 to 15% above starting weight. Scientists have known this reality for decades - the entire diet industry is based on it - yet we keep on falling for promises of fast, easy, permanent weight loss.

Publisher's Summary
Read by the author.
From the creator of Bulletproof coffee and the best-selling author of Head Strong and The Bulletproof Diet comes a plan to bypass plateaus and ‘up’ your game at every age.
Dave Asprey suffered countless symptoms of ageing as a young man, which sparked a lifelong burning desire to grow younger with each birthday. For more than 20 years, he has been on a quest to find innovative, science-backed methods to upgrade human biology and redefine the limits of the mind, body, and spirit. The results speak for themselves. Now in his 40s, Dave is smarter, happier, and more fit and successful than ever before.
In Super Human, he shows how this is level of health and performance possible for all of us. While we assume we will peak in middle age and then decline, Asprey’s research reveals there is another way. It is possible to make changes on the sub-cellular level to dramatically extend life span. And the tools to live longer also give you more energy and brainpower right now.
The answers lie in Dave’s Seven Pillars of Ageing that contribute to degeneration and disease while diminishing your performance in the moment. Using simple interventions – like diet, sleep, light, exercise, and little-known but powerful hacks from ozone therapy to proper jaw alignment, you can decelerate cellular ageing and supercharge your body’s ability to heal and rejuvenate.
A self-proclaimed human guinea pig, Asprey arms listeners with practical advice to maximise their lives at every age with his signature mix of science-geek wonder, candour, and enthusiasm. Getting older no longer has to mean decline. Now it’s an opportunity to become Super Human.
Critic Reviews
"The field of anti-aging is filled with discoveries that teach us our body can heal from within and slow its own destruction. In Super Human, Dave Asprey masterfully reveals his formula for immortality and how to achieve super health." (William W Li, MD, author of New York Times best seller, Eat to Beat Disease)
"We are seeing that we can prevent and even reverse diseases of old aging, such as dementia, with diet, lifestyle, and targeted, precision therapeutics. Dave’s Super Human provides a role model for the successful aging of our minds and bodies." (Dale Bredesen, MD, author of New York Times best seller, The End of Alzheimer’s)
"Looking and feeling older is now optional with Super Human.... I’m growing YOUNGER because of my Bulletproof choices!" (JJ Virgin, author of New York Times best seller, The Virgin Diet)

Very Interesting real life guide to biohacking.
One of the most interesting books I have read in a long time.
A lot of the approaches I am sceptical about and wont be applying myself. However, I found his true honest account of what he has done, absolutely fascinating.
In my opinion, this book can glide over some of the risks and likelyhoods of success. Additionally, because of Dave's prominate role in the biohacking world, it has strong conflicts of interest.
Understanding that I would use it more as an informative overview of what is out there rather than a bible of actions. However, taken under that lense, I thought it was brilliant.

No PDF
I love this audiobook, however I think it’s not really fair to make so many references to gadgets and tests used, without listing them in a PDF. An example of this would be Dave’s so-called sleep-tracking ‘aura ring’. Try googling it...is the correct spelling ‘aura’, or is it ‘oura’? Not sure. Who knows. Also there are references to various laser therapies but who knows which exact ones are real and which are pseudo-science.

Getting better
This book was much less a beginning-to-end advert for Asprey's products than his previous books, which is great.
I always find lay explanations of science in an attempt to 'prove' the author's point frustrating and this was no less than usual. We have all been given scientific explanations that are total fictions and if I was knowledgeable enough to judge which of these are correct, I wouldn't need them.
What I did like about this book the list of potential life-improving hacks, the author's own use of them and what effect he felt he had received from them. Having said that, this book could have benefited from a PDF listing all the techniques or at the least an index for the chapters. I do recommend this book for people interested in improving their health but I think you would get more benefit from the paper version.
I also think that the tone his voice was awful. Could he really not afford a professional voice actor??????

Overall not bad.
Very inspiring until you realise some of the info and advice allegedly backed by research and science doesn't really agree with the medical study... Or is circumstantial at best. You also can't shake of the feeling that you're being advised by professional salesman rather than devoted researcher or aspiring scientist. Once you hear a fact or two that is not scientifically true suddenly the whole book loses its credibility. And it's a shame, because Superhuman is a really good read/listen. Nonetheless have a go and make up your own mind.

I'm amazed this book gets published when the author suggests using pharmaceuticals that have not got approval for safe use. He also confesses as to 'probably' having the most stem cell injections ever.
On top of this the narration is very fast and not an easy listen. Keep clear.

Waste of 8+ hours
Whilst there are a few interesting facts, 80% of the book is a mishmash of what drugs, potions and gadgets the author uses to live to 180 (the number gets repeated about every 5 mins). The usual theme is “I’ve tried x and felt amazing so I’ve been eating/ injecting/ inhaling it ever since, including pumping ozone up his ass, my personal favourite. The most beneficial anti ageing techniques like exercise and social interactions barely get a mention and lots of his arguments are very one sided, e.g. the “vegan trap”.
