Crashing the chatterbox = Overpowering lies of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement with the promises of God. “I used to think that someone who struggled with the kinds of weaknesses I deal with daily was useless to God. I felt so often like I was drowning in internal dialogue I couldn’t control. It had been the soundtrack of my life for as long as I could remember.

Story
Many of us wrestle with the gap between our weaknesses and our dreams, between who we are and who God says we are meant to be. We feel unqualified to do God's work or to live out the calling we imagine. But God has a way of using our weaknesses for good. In fact, God loves unqualified people. In (Un)Qualified, Pastor Steven Furtick helps you peel back the assumptions you've made about yourself and see yourself as God sees you.

It's Good Friday. The Son of God is giving up his life. What does he want to say to us in his final hours? What does he tell the people standing at the foot of the cross to pass down to the ages? He speaks only seven short statements. Words of forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph, and reunion. Seven statements that mean everything.

Story
Just like Superman, followers of Christ have the supernatural ability to conquer the challenges we face. But the problem for both Superman and us is there's a kryptonite that steals our strength. Of course, both Superman and kryptonite are fictional. But spiritual kryptonite is not. This book offers answers to why so many people - and the churches they attend - are unable to experience the divine strength that was evident among the first-century Christians. In Killing Kryptonite, John Bevere reveals what this kryptonite is and how to break free from its bondage.

Exactly What I Needed to Hear
Thank you Ps Steven. This book I read from start to finish on a road trip, to and from. I needed the example because there are some impossible circumstances in this. Bless you. It really stretched my limited thinking and the ability to ask beyond the normal ask.

Great! Inspirational! Moving!
What did you love best about Sun Stand Still?
It reminded me that that God wants us to have great life. Not the ordinary 9 to 5; waiting to retire at 62 life. It's not an easy thing to live an extraordinary and fulfilled life, and God is with us but we must have an audacious faith.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Joshua
What does Steven Furtick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His reading is alive.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Milk and Honey
I was predisposed to love this book, primarily because over the years, Joshua's life and his battles have impacted me. It isn't so much the battles that I enjoy; primarily I'm awed by his faith. When I listened to this persons account of their life; speaking about how their faith opened doors; in the telling of the story, he too experienced 'Sun Stand Still' miracles. Yet, I didn't have the same degree of awe as I'd experienced when reading about Joshua's accounts. I suppose I wanted to hear more. Perhaps, I needed fuller descriptions. But, all in all; I cannot deny that, in his life he too experienced God's miracle working power.

Very Good
Thought this was a great book. Read lots of reviews on other sites before i bought it. The people with the bad reviews seem to be people looking for anything to be negative about. Listened to the whole book and really have nothing bad to say about. Very good listen!!!

Strategic.
It is an awesome read. It compels you to move forward and not accept or do the basic. The mundane things we do is unacceptable. To win for Christ and do for the kingdom, you must push past the limits. Especially the ones we have been so comfortable with. We have to do it in prayer.

Audacious!
I haven't read a lot of Christian books but of the few that I have read this definitely is by far my favorite. In this book, Pastor Steven, gives the tools we need to have that audacious faith most Christians seek to have. If you allow it, this book will revolutionize the way you pray and teach you how to pray without fear. Since he's the narrator it give it the personal touch to the book which truly made a difference. It was like he was preaching only to me.

Some Reviewers Must Not Have Read This Book
This work has been characterized by some bloggers as a book that promotes "Name It/Claim It" doctrine. I did not find anything to support such allegations. In fact Furtick goes to great lengths to challenge readers to pray audacious prayers, not for their own benefit, but to glorify God. Some reviews were so far off base I wonder if they read any of the book at all. Very little of the book will make sense to someone who does not believe the Bible.

Honest!
What did you love best about Sun Stand Still?
I love the honesty Stephen Furtick has when he talks about anything and it still is true with his book.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Furtick talks about himself, his family, and many other people with different circumstances within this book. I can't choose a favorite but I like that his accountant guy is named Chunks. Then there is a man he mentions (I forgot his nickname) that was brought to Christ, then sent to jail. Furtick was worried about him and the man seemed happy that he could go to jail for the time he had to pay for crimes he committed so he could start a revival of Christ in the jailhouse.
Which scene was your favorite?
Probably when Stephen talks about him in college and inviting everyone on his floor to come and eat his food, how quickly he ran out of food and how he had to keep up with this plan. His determination is fun and funny.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listened to it in two parts so I practically did listen to it in one sitting.
Any additional comments?
Stephen Furtick has a way of telling a story that puts you in his shoes so you experience it with him. He doesn't stand in front of you preaching at you or behind you, he's with you.
