Publisher's Summary

Country’s hottest bad boy. That’s what they call me. My label ate it up until I became “too bad” for the good folks of country music. That’s when Hard Candy Records picked me up and took a chance on me. Probably not their smartest move, but I won’t tell them that. Especially when they’ve assigned me a babysitter to try and keep my ass out of trouble. One smart-mouthed, unimpressed, sexy-as-homegrown-sin Addy Mae Masterson. She likes to pretend that she doesn’t like me, and I like to let her.

I may have a past that haunts me, and she may have a habit of getting attached, but damn if I don’t want to show her just how good this bad boy can be.

Sugar is a full-length, stand-alone romance.

Take Me To Church

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! It's a really fun and sexy listen. As always, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross do an incredible job narrating!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Addy! She can be all business and no nonsense when she needs to, but then she's also awkward and hilarious. Her reaction to the Sheriff was THE BEST and had me laughing out loud! I also really loved Scarlet! She was like the little devil perched on your shoulder while Willow was more the angel. #Squadgoals for sure. Kai Kennicott's performance was perfect!

What does Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved hearing the southern accents! Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott completely nailed Beau and Addy. They always bring such emotion and feeling to the story and their narration really made this story. They are my favorite narrating team!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I definitely laughed a lot! That road head scene was absolutely hysterical! Throw in all the silly and flirty banter between Beau, Addy, and all the supporting characters and it made for a truly entertaining audiobook!

Any additional comments?

I liked Addy pretty much right away, but it took a bit more for Beau to grow on me. It wasn't until later in the story that I could see past his womanizing ways and really see the man underneath. Overall, this was a fun and sexy story, but it was Wen and Kai's narration that really sold me.

Amazing and captivating!

I previously read Sugar and loved it, so when I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook, I jumped at the chance! And again, I absolutely loved it! The narrators, Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott were absolutely amazing and really brought Beau and Addy to life for me! I have heard both narrators before, so I wondered if they could bring the charm and sexiness of Sugar to life and they knocked it out of the ballpark!

Country’s bad boy is in need of a new label after he takes his bad boy title to heart. When Hard Candy picks up his contract and is ready to give him a second chance, he is not prepared for Addy Mae Masterson. The last thing he needs is a babysitter, but as soon as he sees her, he knows she is nothing but trouble to the walls he built around his heart.

Addy has gotten out of a bad relationship and is determined to not make the same mistakes again. She is focusing on her career and business. She knows Beau is nothing but trouble and is determined to keep her distance, but the more time they spend together, the harder he is to resist.

Beau is reeling with guilt and is ready to implode, but Addy is good for him. She is smart, beautiful and is not wowed by him. Beau closed himself off from relationships and is determined to keep it that way. He was such a charming and sexy man who was a bit lost. But the more time they spend together, the more they fall! I loved their banter! Their journey will captivate you.

I loved Sugar when I first read it and fell in love even more when I listened to the story. If you have not met Addy and Beau, you really need to meet them! Check out the book or audiobook today! It is absolutely amazing!

Happy reading!

Great story and narration!

This is my first Mandi Beck's book and I won't be the last. The duet narration is easy to listen and is as perfect as always with Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott! I like duet narration! The story is great. I love the two main characters, Beau and Addy. Beau is so sexy and flirty! Addy knows well herself about the fact she could get too attached really fast and Beau knows how to charm! They fit so well together. I haven't listened to the first book in the Wrecked Series, but I will! I can't wait to listen to the Stone Lockhart's story.

Crazy about Beau McCrae!

.WHOO-WEE! No one writes swoony, dirty-talkin’ Alpha Males quite like Mandi Beck, and GLORY HALLELUJAH did she hit my sweet spot with SUGAR, a standalone Rock Star romance in the multi-author Expose series!

THE STORY IN A NUTSHELL:
Beau McCrae, country music’s baddest bad boy, has been dropped from his label for his devilish antics after the death of his on again/off again sweetheart set him on a downward spiral. But praise the lord…he was recently picked up by Hard Candy Records and is determined not to squander this second chance. But he was not counting on one itty bitty stipulation in his new deal, which had sweet and sassy record exec Addy Mae Masterson being glued to his side as his keeper! After all, the last thing Hard Candy Records needs is for Beau to go on another bender and be the source of more gossip fodder!

Although at first he is less than pleased to have a glorified babysitter watching his every move, turns out the sinfully sexy bad boy enjoys flirting with the sultry spitfire. And even though Addy Mae puts on a tough act she is not exactly immune to his smoldering charms either! But she tends to get ATTACHED and Beau is not looking for anything lasting! Can this crazy in lust duo fall in perfect harmony or will mixing business with pleasure cause them to crash and burn?

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
Gosh darnit!! I was absolutely ADDICTED to this fun, flirty, red-hot romance!!! One of the reasons that Mandi Beck is one of my all-time favorite authors is because she captures the swaggeringly sexy male POV like none other! And holy hot tamale...Beau McCrae was my fantasy rock star BBF come to life! This small town football star turned country music idol was so gosh darn sexy I could hardly stand it! I just worshiped the ground this hard-muscled hunka burning love stood on! But it was so much more than his looks that fanned the flames of my fangirl heart! His arrogant attitude, gentlemanly mannerisms, big ol’ heart, and naughty one liners, drawled in that velvety-smooth Texas twang, just R.U.I.N.E.D me!!

It takes a strong, feisty woman with a backbone of steel to keep up with this larger than life rule-breaker, and Addy Mae was his perfect counterpart! I just adored her sassy and spirited southern girl next door charm. And she’s smart as a whip too! She has a good head for business yet beneath the no-nonsense attitude lurks a surprisingly vulnerability and inner sex kitten that's just begging to be unleashed!

This was a low-angst tale with the perfect blend of romance, humor, swoon and scintillating sexy times! These MCs just had so much sizzling chemistry and electrifying sparks it nearly incinerated my kindle! And as is this author's trademark, there was a ton of heart and soul depth interlaced with the steamy interludes that gave me warm fuzzy feels galore. The story is beautifully paced—truly not a dull moment—and the secondary cast added a hefty shot of warmth and wit into the mix! And of course the piece de resistance? A sweet and fulfilling HEA that made my heart sing!

THE NARRATION:
Squeeee...the narration was sensational! This may be my fave Wen/Kai duet performance to date! With his Texas twang, good ol’ boy roguish charm and shiver-inducing inflections, Wen truly embodied Beau McRae in all his country bad boy HOTNESS and had me panting like a star-struck groupie! And…gah… don’t get me started on what his deep, rumbly chuckles do to me!!!!

And Kai was absolutely darlin'! Loved her sweet, feisty performance and she made me wish I could hang out with Addy Mae and her bffs on Girls Night Out! And Kai nailed the southern accent and emoted beautifully.

As always, Kai and Wen had an infectious flirty chemistry and played off each other perfectly! I could FEEL the heat and the spark, and the love and the humor between them down to my core. These two made this audio a pure, sinfully delicious delight!

A MUST AUDIO LISTEN!

Sugar by Mandi Beck was another great read by the author. Beau is the hottest bad boy in Country music right now. He winds up at Hard Candy Records and meets Addy. I absolutely loved Addy and Beau’s story. I can’t wait to read more by Mandi Beck.

Oh, Sugar!

4.5 "Make me forget" Stars

Beau McCrae.

You're gonna have to give me a minute to catch my breath.
And maybe find my undergarments.

Yep. A minute.
Or two.

Wow. Just holy wow. Thank you Mandi Beck for giving me a sexy, sweet, smooth country boy. I don't always like the southern guys, but hot dang. Beau McCrae.

Do people actually read my reviews? Do I need to be more descriptive or explain my newfound obsession a bit better?

Beau McCrae is the bad boy of country music. He's so bad, he's looking for a new label and he's making headlines--not the kind of headlines that says he's saving kittens or puppies or whatever either. The headlines are about the chicks he's banging, the amount of alcohol he's consuming, and the downward spiral he's been on recently.

Enter Hard Candy Records. Enter Addy Mae Masterson. She's sex on a stick or something. Beau can't take his eyes off her. And she's captivated by him too. Who wouldn't be? He's the Beau McCrae. Everyone wants a piece of him.

Addy Mae included.

I can't blame her, after this book I wanted some of Beau as well.

The way he drawls out the nickname Sugar, the way he works on his parents' ranch, the way he bickers with his brother, the way he hides behind himself, the booze, the screw-ups. The way he fills out a shirt, wears that ball cap, and rocks a pair of jeans. Yes, I think I want my own Beau McCrae.

If you've read Stoned, you're going to love the cameos by that lot. LOVE IT. There's no one quite like Stone Lockhart and having him in a room with Beau McCrae should be illegal. Seriously. Hotness, artistic overload.

Mandi Beck wrote a wonderful book. This might actually be my favorite. And I didn't think anyone would top Stone, especially after Stone quoted Justin Beiber song lyrics to Willow. Beau could have used some of those lyrics himself.

Buy Sugar, read it, devour it, love it. Write a review.

Just know that you'll never think of watermelon OR the watermelon crawl quite the same way again.

Yeah, the book is that hot. The narration is that fantastic. And Beau McCrae? Oh, honey, hold on to your heart because he's going to swoop right in and steal it before you know what's hit you.

My Two Pennies

Kai and Wen sold me on this book, I think Kai does such a phenomenal job with her southern accent and Wen just has me hooked.
Story wise I’m rating 3.7 Stars.
Took me a bit to get into this story, reading the blurb I was intrigued. Beau is a sexy country singer that is on the outs and needs to basically get a remodel on his career and Addy is the woman who’s there to experience it. The pace was good, we’re given the romance mixed with laughter and of course I love the strong female character we’re presented with. Even the friends around Beau and Addy were a great part of the story. It’s a quick light read that in the end I’m happy I completed the book. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Hard Candy Records signs a winner!

Bad Boy country singer, Beau has been acting out even the more the past several months. So much so that his current record company has released him from his contract. Where does this leave him? Hard Candy Records! After taking on the troubled singer, Addy Mae has been assigned to work on the bad boy's image and help him keep on the straight and narrow. This includes being his escort....everywhere...and he is doing his best to catch her eye. Addy does not like being attached, but will this man win her heart? If he has his way, he will, but circumstances arise. I really love this series, with Expose magazine always reporting what they think is happening. It is so true to life with the way the media can take a situation and twist it to their liking, truth or not! Mandi Beck's writing of her installment is fun, flirty and hot with charismatic characters.

Needing that western twang, the choice of Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross to narrate this story was perfect. Wen's ability to bring Beau to life with his boyish charm and western accent gave the story the charm it deserves. Kai is excellent as Addy Mae, presenting the very emotions that I was feeling as the story progressed. Their flawless performances are always a treat.

I need my Sugar fix! This stuff is sure addicting!

This was a hot hot read! I absolutely fell in love with Beau & Andy's story. This is the first book I have read & listen to by this author and I loved both of them. This is a great first read by Mandi Beck. She sucked me in with just the first page & from the first words read. I loved the chemistry between Addy & Beau the way they grow together. The heat between them sizzle. This book hit so many feelers for me and I loved it. It also gives a little insight on Stone and Willow characters from another book that the author has written called Stoned. She gives you just enough but leaves wanting more about Stone and Willow. I will be checking out their story next. Thanks for a great story & 5 star read & listen! Grab your copy today!

So when this book first came out I devoured it so when I saw that it was on audio I knew that I had to have it! I was even more excited to see who was the narrators for the book and I was jumping for joy! I love what the narrators bring to the book and to the authors world that they have created so beautifully! They develope the characters so gracefully and just give that much more to the story! Thank you for allowing me to read/listen to Beau, Addy & the crew again and fall that much more in love with them, the author & the narrators!
