About this listen

Life is full of surprises...even when you’re already dead.

Sterling has his hands full balancing the attentions of an ancient Norse deity, a knife-wielding Knight of the Flowers, and a sleazy vampire sycophant. And those are just his buddies.

But something is amiss in sleepy Silveropolis. More human hunters are appearing, intent on attacking not only Sterling, but the rest of the supernatural population as well. Stranger still is the sudden disappearance of the moon. With the local werewolf pack weakened and the mountains swarming with hunters, Sterling and his friends have their work cut out for them. Except there’s another tiny problem.

The Scepter of the vampire court of California is in town. And she is pissed.

Sterling may be a mouthy vampire, but his (dead) heart has always been in the right place, he’s loyal to his supernatural friends, protective of humans, and even shows some restraint when dealing with his arrogant local ruler, the Scepter. He’ll need all the friends he’s got when the vampire hunter group ‘Perpetual Sun’ starts attacking in force. Worse still, an old foe is back and she seems to be playing a dangerous game with gods of the sun and moon.

I’ve enjoyed this whole irreverent YA trilogy and this book especially. It answered a lot of questions, brought the plot lines together, and it clarified that Sterling is, in fact, now in a relationship (even though the series pretty much ignored the romance throughout). There were some pretty excellent creative magical ideas and the world-building seems to happen regularly in small chunks so you just absorb it all easily. It’s my first Nazri Noor series and it’s convinced me to go back to the very first series and work my way through—the humour, characters, and ideas all work so well. 🎧 Voice actor Nick Podehl really was brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed his voicing and performances!

Loads of fun and epic action!
