Took awhile for me to settle with the narration. Iggy is a bit hit and miss for me, although more hits than misses. Maybe dual narration would have worked better ? I liked the characters well enough and their coupling felt right but I felt the author missed a few opportunities to deepen the storyline. Not sure if I’ll continue the series, would have thought that Damon or CJ would be next and I’m never keen when the same narrator is used in a series as the characters get lost unless they are brilliant with alternate accents and tones. I’d like to give the author another go, so maybe I’ll go and read one from another series.

As a creative person, this hit all the right notes. Love it. All the characters, even the side characters, are so 3D. And the way the whole "muse" thing is handled is perfect. It's clear it starts as lust not love, but it's clear it develops into love naturally. And they're both inspired by each other but over time they realise it's not the cheap inspiration of infactuation, they genuinely love each other. It's great. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author. And Iggy Toma did a fantastic job. The best performance of his I've heard.

Stripped Love is book one in the Guys Next Door series.

This is my first time reading Baylin and I'm so glad I started with this book. Its exactly what I expected it to be and what I needed.

Its a low angst story of finding yourself and falling in love. It will give you the happy feels. I really enjoyed these characters and I look forward to reading more in this series.

If you're an audiophile like me I highly recommend the audio narrated by one of my faves Iggy Toma. He's fantastic at bringing a story to life!

A fluffy MM romance 😌

It honestly wasn’t as bad as what people are banging on about, it was just a little fluffy romance about two people who meet, fall in love and help each other pursue their dream… career I guess?

There wasn’t a lot of depth to the story itself and the characters were both in their early 20’s so again, not much depth there but I thought it was cute nonetheless.

Also if you’re gong to read this then do so as I went with the audiobook which was narrated by the one guy and his voice didn’t match Phoenix’s character at all 🙃

Archer West is embarrassed to find himself in a gay strip club with a few friends who have paid for him to get a private lap dance. He doesn’t expect to connect so deeply to the dancer and he’s even more surprised to find himself living next door to the guy. Phoenix Ryan came to Nashville to be a country songwriter but a tragedy scuppered his plans and he’s been adept at finding work as a stripper ever since. He’s lost his songwriting mojo but maybe the virginal Archer will be his new muse.

I liked the premise, the story, and the characters, especially the two main ones. Archer is a sweet and slightly naive guy, still finding his feet in life. Phoenix is an experienced guy who knows life can be unkind at times, and yet, he isn’t jaded or bitter. I thought their chemistry was great, if a little instalovey. I also liked the subplot with Phoenix’s jealous ex, and I would have liked more of that to give this more tension. 🎧 Experienced voice artist Iggy Toma gives his always excellent and heartfelt best on the audio.
