Story
With human civilization annihilated by a biological zombie plague, a rag-tag fleet of yachts and freighters known as Wolf Squadron scours the Atlantic, searching for survivors. Within every abandoned liner and carrier lurks a potential horde, safety can never be taken for granted, and death and turning into one of the enemy is only a moment away. Yet every ship and town holds the flickering hope of survivors. One and two from lifeboats, a dozen from a fishing village, a few hundred wrenched by fury and fire from a ship that once housed thousands....

Story
Tom Smith used to be somebody. Now he's just another refugee, fleeing the smoking ruins of civilization. Tom and some trusted allies were able to stay one step ahead of the infected humans and escaped offshore. Now they're holed up in a safe house in coastal Virginia and it's time to break out. Between him and his objective, one of the bank's prepared evacuation camps in the Cumberland Valley, are hundreds of miles of clogged roads, burnt-out towns, and howling mobs of infected humans who know only hunger.

Story
Imperial Intelligence couldn't find them, the Imperial Fleet couldn't catch them, and local defenses couldn't stop them. It seemed the planet-wrecking pirates were invincible. But they made a big mistake when they raided ex-commando leader Alicia DeVries' quiet home/work, tortured and murdered her family, and then left her for dead. Alicia decided to turn "pirate" herself, and stole a cutting-edge AI ship from the empire to start her vendetta. Her fellow veterans think she's gone crazy, the Imperial Fleet has shoot-on-sight orders. And, of course, the pirates want her dead, too.

Banding together with what remains of the U.S. Navy, Wolf Squadron, and its leader Steve Smith, not only plans to survive - he plans to retake the mainland from the infected, starting with North America. A good place end
I'm hoping John Ringo ends here. While the book is not bad for what it is. Parts of it at time felt contrived. It really seemed as if the author was trying to force the story to a conclusion. As a fan of many John Ringo books that may not have been a bad thing.

Good ending to the series.
I wish they would of added more on spots they skipped and less on operations. I was hoping for how they would Intergrate with another large force and what you would you do with people that didn't want the new world to go back.

Great ending to a great series
I enjoyed the entire series, and this was a very satisfying conclusion. My only issues with the series are: (1) The wife/mother of the main characters was pregnant, but there was never any mention of her giving birth/having a miscarriage during the ensuing 12 months; and (2)The series lacked any real tension. Although I did not get bored, I was also never on the edge of my seat, and [SPOILER ALERT] not one main character died—in the zombie apocalypse. 🤔
Only 4 stars on the performance, because Tristan truly cannot carry a tune! There is a fair amount of “singing” in all of the books, and most of the songs are well known; however, Tristan speaks them in a very strange way instead of even attempting to sing them, and it’s just...wrong! 😂 With that exception, the narration is quite good.

Any additional comments?
Fun, cool, interesting, action-packed, and unique take on zombie apocalypse. I'm a big fan of John Ringo's books. He writes in a very comfortable style.. he's a good writer.. but he also knows how to throw in great humor mixed with technical detail and hardcore military concepts. Mix Neal Stephenson, Steve Martin, Tom Clancy, and Richard Marcinco... while drinking Scotch and listening to Crux Shadows. He's at the top of my novel watch list.

Great end to the series, but is it just me or....
Did it feel rushed? This series had characters that I really liked and maybe Ringo felt he didn't want to write this series anymore... I personally liked it and felt that book one and two were great. I would say grab this and enjoy it for what it is, an ending.

I loved the other books in this series but this was a let down. To full of acronyms and abbreviations and not enough story about the characters and situations. lots of information that didn't add to the overall story and just not enough plot.

Author avoided turning it into a people v people book.. Avoided the rotting corpse walking scenario (which biologicaly would not work) had a plausible sounding start to the "plague" (not that I'm a biologist).. Avoided the stupid people doing stupid things scenario's..

Slightly less coherent than books 1-3
There is more of a gearshift from book 3 than there was from book 2 to 3, and it seemed slightly discordant once or twice. "Wilkes" previously a very somber character with a fairly stern parental tone in all conversations, suddenly in this book is jocular and, having been reduced from secondary character to background, is acting like a random 30-something. I'm not sure if it's the lines as written or the delivery, but it was jarring in spots. Even so, I enjoyed the book and look forward to any sequel that may come.
