Die Ermittlerin Lena Schulte wird an die Ostseeküste beordert – ein deutscher Tourist liegt tot am Strand bei Swinemünde. Vermutet wird ein Badeunfall, doch im Mund des Toten steckt ein großer Bernstein. Kurz darauf wird die zehnjährige Luisa als vermisst gemeldet, die Tochter einer Freundin des Toten. Gemeinsam mit dem polnischen Kommissar Adam Krawczyk befragt sie die Freunde und Angehörigen, die in einer Villa Urlaub machen. Jeder von ihnen scheint etwas zu verbergen.
