Editorial reviews

Young listeners will greatly benefit from these well-written (but never condescending) synopses, which untangle those potentially confusing plot lines and introduce favorite excerpts from eight of Shakespeare's plays, including Much Ado About Nothing, Antony and Cleopatra, and A Winter’s Tale. Juliet Stevenson and Simon Russell Beale take turns narrating these elegant stories, which also shed light on some of Shakespeare's most famous dialogue. Each brings a different, though equally insightful, touch to the role. Speaking parts are performed by a talented cast of British actors. This production offers an excellent introduction to Shakespeare's plays, or an enjoyable recap of old favorites.
