wow that is one very exciting twist in the end, i wud have never expected it. I thought for sure Alberto was a shadow shaper haha. Anyway i loved this book Lexie who talks to animals and Jake Steel the shaper are really good together, i hope they have more adventures to come. Hollie Jackson has always been one of my favourite narrator and i am not disappointed.

I'm glad to have discovered a UF series set in Australia. Good magic and characters. The FMC's callousness when using animals to their death was a unsettling but I know this is fiction. The narrator is good but it was disappointing to hear an American accent telling an Australian story; I wish it was common knowledge that 'arse' is pronounced 'ahse' with a complete absence of 'r' sounds. I will be continuing with the series.
