Publisher's Summary

Situated in a beautiful setting abutting the Balarang waterways and located on an acre of natural bushland, this three-bedroom country home is full of promise, character and potential. Featuring private access to the many splendours of Balarang Creek, this idyllic property is perfect for anyone seeking fresh air and serenity.

Nostalgic for childhood summers a world away from his manic Melbourne life, Dave Johnson purchases a secluded house in a postcard-perfect coastal town. A savvy investment, he convinces his wife. One year on, and his seaside dream has turned into one big headache, with his tenants not paying rent, and now simply vanishing into thin air, leaving all their belongings behind. Summoned back to the house to inspect the abandoned property, Dave and his wife Lisa become trapped in the isolated spot after their car breaks down. Spooked and alone, they become lured into investigating what really happened to their mysterious tenants.

Must Listen! A+

Psychological thrillers make for intoxicating audiobooks and Still House does not fall short. Luke Arnold’s gravelly voice draws the listener in with a nuanced characterisation of Dave’s tension and insecurity. The contrast of Sibylla Budd’a crisp elocution and impassioned narration brings Lisa to life. A nod to the lonely Australian landscape counterposed to the picturesque coastal holiday dream, this story of Still House is one you cannot miss.

Brilliant!

Engaged me right from the start. could not stop listening. Short but action packed. not for the faint hearted. A bit disturbing and I found it scary. Very gripping read. Narrators did an outstanding job. cant believe this was a free read!

HELD MY ATTENTION THE WHOLE TIME

At first i thought it was a drama story, then i thought it was a ghost story, then i thought it was a murder story. And the end was like "WHAAAAAT??".
Great writing, and the narrators did an excellent job as well. Will def check out more of author's work.

Captivating story

Intriguing, unnerving and filled with lots of suspense. I wished I hadn't listened to the end at night as it made me feel uneasy. Well written and narration was done very well. I think this could be made into a miniseries.

Not a bad attempt

I enjoyed this well enough. It's a novella, might have been better if trimmed back even further - keep it punchy - but it's fine.

A clever idea and effectively told. These authors likely have some more entertaining ideas up their sleeves, would be interested in reading more.

Riveting

Wonderful performances being the characters to life with emotion and gusto. I read one review that claimed the ending was obvious, but I found there are many possibilities throughout. Life is tough and full of unexpected turns and this novel reflects that.

Aussie thriller!!!

Fast moving plot, creepy scenes, well narrated, not perfect but near enough to get my vote and I score it 9 out of ten.
