About this listen

I'll be there. Through thick and thin. Ride or die. You can count on me.

The promises people make. The vows we take. Assumptions of the heart. Emotion tells us how we feel, but life...life has a way of plunging us in boiling water, burning away our illusions, testing our faith, trying our convictions. Love floating is a butterfly, but love tested is an anchor.

For Grip and Bristol, love started at the top of the world on a Ferris wheel under the stars, but when that love is tested, will they fly or fall?

Amazing sensitivity to heart wrenching subjects. Kennedy is becoming my favourite author. The way she pulls a story together and her characters are peoples I would like to have in my life. Inspirational and emotional and entertaining.

Loved the Grip series

“I will worship you,” I remind her, taking her hand and tracing the letters tattooed beneath her wedding band, linking our fingers, showing her the ink beneath mine.
“Still?” she asks with a watery smile.
“Yeah.” Always. Evermore. Even after. “Still.”

No this can't be the end, because what am I supposed to do now, aside from bathing in my tear drenched Rosanov hoodie and wait for my physical copies of this trilogy to arrive so I can relive this pain (probably not as vicerally) all over again.
This had me eating my feelings and drinking my tears.

Let tell me you, when Kennedy applies ink to her thoughts she stirs up emotions and deep conversations pertaining to divisive subjects. But im getting ahead of myself.

Book one is a novella that ends on a cliffhanger and sets the ambience for the second book Grip.
This baby is the 3rd and last book in this beautiful trilogy.

Bristol and Grip are finally together.
After years of persistence Grip finally has the girl. Now they have to navigate the intrricacies of an interracial relationship, under the scrutiny of the public eye, and the racial slurs from their loved ones.
And then tragedy strikes in the cruellest way, testing their relationship and love for one another.

Bristol and Grips are couples goals!! I am proud of Bristol and the way she tries to be informed and less ignorant about experiences that shape the filter through we people of colour process information of the derogative, racial, discriminative nature. She really turned up in this book and I respect her so much more. I slapped the sister 15 ways to Pluto in back, in book 1 - Grip. But she redeemed herself, and some.

Grip aka Marlon - this man had my heart at hello.
This man, with the influence of Kennedy's vernacular, spits poetry like 2pac raps - flawlessly. He writes sex on paper. This lyrical genius had me doing off with my parental duties and I was in wifey mode for more hours than is decent to admit. 🤭🤭🤭
But in all seriousness, this man is not afraid to have the hard conversations, will never steer away from the hard stuff, will always check in, will NEVER forget to say "I love you", will stand by you, even if his family won't support you two...in short he's that man that every parents wishes for their baby girl.

Grip has made it into the #1 BB Harem containing Darius Acrux, Ilya Rosanov, Casteel DaNeer, Grip aka Marlon James.

My new favourite trilogy
