Jerry articulates positive values and while his approach and technique may not appeal to everyone, you can make it worth your time and money if you frame it right.
This is a very casual and mostly unstructured dialogue that acts a bit more like a presentation than a book. There are no step by step instructions (not that I was looking for any), but many anecdotes and suggestions and a long but earnest pep talk.
I appreciated the humanity, it made the content relatable. That said, the content could have been refined to make it more engaging and less lengthy as well. Maybe a little less repetition on certain dramatic events would also help.
I don’t see this as ranting as some people have describe it. I see it as someone who is trying to share a message but still needs to work on technique. Practice makes perfect, right?
The good thing about audiobooks is being able to listen and do (certain) things at the same time. I don’t regret my purchase or time spent listening.
Use what you can, discard the rest.
