Unheimliches geht in einem Reetdachhaus an der Ostseeküste vor sich. Emma Nelson ist sich sicher, dass wiederholt ein Unbekannter in ihrem Haus war. Als niemand ihr glaubt, bittet sie den Ex-Polizisten und Privatermittler Jonas Starck um Hilfe. Mit Kameras und Sicherheitstechnik versucht Starck dem Phantom auf die Spur zu kommen. Dann verschwindet Emma eines Nachts spurlos. Starck steht vor einem Rätsel, denn die Bilder der Kameras zeigen etwas, das eigentlich unmöglich ist. Für den Ermittler beginnt ein Rennen gegen die Zeit, bei dem er entdeckt, dass Emma nicht das erste Opfer des Unbekannten ist. Für Emma hingegen beginnt ein Albtraum wahr zu werden.
