Publisher's Summary

Twenty-two-year-old pop star Cherry Pye is attempting a comeback from her latest drug and alcohol disaster. Ann DeLusia is Cherry’s ‘undercover stunt double’, standing in for Cherry whenever the singer is too wasted to go out in public.

But, one night, Ann-as-Cherry is mistakenly kidnapped from a Miami hotel by an obsessed paparazzo named Bang Abbott. Now the challenge for Cherry’s handlers is to rescue Ann while keeping her existence secret from the public.

Will Cherry sober up in time to lip-synch her concert tour and promote her new album? And will Ann escape from Cherry’s shadow?

A load of fun!

As each successive disaster occurs you can't help smiling, giggling, snorting and finally just guffawing! Very funny - a great read!

Fun!

What made the experience of listening to Star Island the most enjoyable?

A fun romp with a cast of exaggerated characters. A laugh a minute! Jeff Harding does a wonderful job and that makes it all the better.

Would you be willing to try another book from Carl Hiaasen? Why or why not?

Yes

What does Jeff Harding bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is good a doing voices that bring the characters to life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I always wanted to get back to it.

Not one of Hiaasen's best

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think this book is really targeted towards those who are Hello readers. If you like Hiasson try Stormy Weather.

What will your next listen be?

Out of Africa. It know it seems random but I tend to go from chick lit to classic literature and have a biography or historically factual book on the go whilst I go between the styles.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Jeff Harding?

His narration was just a bit wooden but I have to say the plot was so he wasn't inspired!

Another riotous character assassination from Hiaasen

Take a wonderfully colourful adventure as we dip our toes in the treacherous, deceptively alluring yet utterly shallow waters of the modern meat mill that is "teenage celebrity".
Despicable behaviour v karma!?
There can be only one!
It's like the books were written for Jeff Harding to narrate
